Damson Dene Hotel

The location is very good. Windermere lake is a short drive away. Also, the hotel has a nice view on the hills. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, cleaned and had a beautiful view from the window. Food was delicious and, most important, everywhere, a part from the main restaurant, was dog friendly.

The curtains were very thin, so at sunset we were all awake

Scenic and quiet location in the countryside away from the Lakes tourist hotspots. Spa / pool facilities good and easy to access. Plenty of available free parking.

Fairly run down external and internal decor through all parts of the hotel. Rooms not very clean (lots of dust and previous guest hair evident ☹️). Cosy double room very cramped and tired so payed to upgrade to ‘deluxe’ room which was better but calling it deluxe is a stretch!! Some of the staff lacked basic customer service skills but the place seemed under staffed so that may explain why.
