The George Hotel

Penrith is a town that was new to us but it has a lot to offer and the hotel was very well placed to explore. Parking is difficult there but the staff showed us how to overcome the problem. There was a wedding when we stayed, yet it was quiet for other guests and a really pleasing atmosphere.

Nothing. We were there for just the one night and all our needs - and more - were met.

Nice hotel in a really good location, has parking at the back for £3 per stay, room was a good size with comfy bed and clean, we had breakfast which again was really nice, was good as they allow dogs, although the £20 charge per night (I think it was) is a little steep, but they did give a welcome pack for the dog (although we had to ask a couple of times for it) good seating area for breakfast where you can bring the dog also, we also ate here on the night and the food was very nice if a little expensive, all the staff were very friendly and helpful, would stay again if I was in the area
