Comfort Inn & Suites Elk City South

I stayed at the hotel on the way to Santa Fe, but wish that I hadn't. The lobby, rooms and bathrooms are all dated. My daughter though our bathroom may have not been cleaned, as the condition was a bit unkept. The shower value was broken and needs to be fixed. The breakfast was fair, but the orange juice tasted like water, not juice. The bed was fine, but the rooms were humid (which was surprising for this particular location. We were grateful to have a space, but I wouldn't stay there again until improvements have been made.

Everything seemed to be brand new. The room was well lit and had the usual amenities. Comfortable bed.

Because everything was new, there was a significant chemical smell in the room. The window could not be opened. Hopefully it will wear off in time but it really needs to be aired out. The light behind the bed is very nice, but I had to struggle to find the switch that turned it off. I would have much prefered a night light in the bathroom that was soft but still identified the room at night.

The front desk guy was very helpful when we came to him with our concerns and gladly refunded us with no issues.

The room we were put in was not clean, the tub was so rusted we refused to step foot in it. You can tell we were given the last room available which is fine but they should be ashamed to put anyone in a room like that. We complained and were told that was the last room so he offered to refund us so we could go elsewhere.

The property seemed okay when we got there but when you walk in the lobby there are no pictures on the walls. It has a very stale feeling. My son had explored the grounds and found quite a few things wrong with the building inside including a water leak. It looked like there was a lot of maintenance that needed to be done inside and out. I did not like that I could hear the conversation in the next room of other guests. I have stayed in many other comfort inn & suites and this was by far the worst one. I keep booking with the comfort inn & suites because they are generally nice and have the amenities I look for for me and my kids.
