The Raintree has become my go-to hotel in Chennai. Its location is hard to beat, right in the heart of the city while still being conveniently close to the airport. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean. The pool and spa are excellent and add to the overall experience. What truly sets this hotel apart, though, is the food. The breakfast spread is fantastic, with authentic flavours that are increasingly hard to find. The vadai-sambar was easily my favourite and worth coming back for on its own! The service is equally outstanding. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home, and Chef Mr. Ganesan personally engages with guests and ensures every need is taken care of. On one morning, I asked for coffee even before breakfast service had begun, and the team happily accommodated my request without hesitation. When you combine the location, hospitality, food quality, facilities, and reasonable pricing, The Raintree offers exceptional value. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Chennai.

We stayed at the Raintree for 4 nights. It was my husband’s 60th birthday and we had lots of shopping and visiting to do. The central location makes this hotel ideal. It is not on a busy street or main road which was also a welcome relieve. The room was extremely quiet and I appreciated the retreat from the noise. We are not new to Raintree. We have always chosen Raintree even pre-covid. We used to stay at their other location on Annasalai which has since been sold. That was a bigger hotel. We have stayed at the Raintree in St.Marys once before. They may be smaller to many other hotels but they are big at heart. We enjoyed their personalised service and attention to detail. We had a room upgrade, balloons and cake in the room. We also had a discount on foods and beverages in their restaurant. The rooms are a decent size and well appointed. I found the toilet a little small and missed some details. Such as a holder for the hand towel. Or a small magnifying mirror for shaving and eye make-up. Amenities were good and they were quick to top up if we ran low. The king sized bed was very comfortable. I loved the fresh white sheets and soft towels. The hotel was extremely clean and tidy at all times. Food in all three restaurants was delicious. Breakfast was Scrumptious! Quality was consistently high with a wide spread. It was nice to have variety from day to day and not the same choices. We also enjoyed the fine dining on the roof top. They had live music on some nights. We listened two nights. The singers were excellent. They sang mostly oldies which my husband and I enjoy. The view of Chennai and the breeze, make this quite a romantic setting. They have a small pool for a dip, with a bar next door. Nice place to relax. They also have a small gym which I used a couple of times. It was comparable to the small gyms you find in condos. They had the basic machines and weights. It was well appointed and very neat and clean always. I am looking forward to my next stay at Raintree. It was great to be taken care of. They made us feel right at home!
