Red Roof Inn & Suites Monterey

Close to Big Sur.

Stayed the 3rd weekend of February 2026. There were 2 guests ahead of me at check-in. I was surprised to hear that they were being charged parking. When it was my turn, I said my reservation says parking is included. Receptionist asked when I booked. I had to check the details of my reservation, which was in December 2025. She said ok, no charge. I asked if it’s new policy and she said it’s for bookings through 3rd party vendors like Booking.com, Hotels.com, etc. on or after January 10, 2026. She could have easily checked their system to know that the new parking fee doesn’t apply to me. Instead, she placed the burden on me to prove it doesn’t. I booked the suite because I wanted a kitchenette. The room did have a functional kitchenette, but to my dismay, there was no vanity sink in the bathroom. The toilet is a lot smaller than what they have in a regular room (I’ve stayed here before). There’s no space for me to place my toiletries inside the bathroom. I have to place them on a table outside, then walk back and forth to the bathroom. The kitchenette is not worth having at the expense of not having a vanity sink. Very poor design.

C’est un super motel, parfait pour une nuit.

It served it's purpose. It was quiet and clean.

No breakfast

Room was very spacious and clean. The hotel is in a great location and there's a lot of stores nearby that are only just a few minutes away. It's also near a great Italian restaurant called Gusto which was really good.

There were only a couple of minor things I didn't really like. The first one being the top drawer of the nightstand. Every time I closed it it would slowly open back up and i was close to hitting myself on there a few times. The 2nd would be that the fridge was a little even like it was missing the leg for the corner. So when you open it it would go down then go back up.

Está bueno si es que estás con auto. Pq la verdad queda lejos. La habitación que nos tocó estaba bastante buena. Era lo que buscábamos

The rooms were clean and it was a good value. Being able to have our dog and not pay extra was a big plus.

Room was a little small, but acceptable.
