Beach House Fort Lauderdale, A Hilton Resort

Another Hilton hotel that markets itself as a resort but cannot keep up with the volume of guests. The room and bed were clean and the bed was comfortable, but the shower had only a fixed shower head and the baseboards were dirty and banged up. I did ask for an upgrade and was given a room on a higher floor, views were fantastic. Staff was helpful and friendly but it was clear that the volume of people in a day outpaced their ability to help everyone in a timely manner. Two things bothered me the most; One, slow elevators. There is four of them in the lobby but they run one at a time, and at night two of them are used only for the rooftop bar access. This lead to always encountering lines of people waiting for the elevator. Second issue, the pool is a hotel pool, not a resort sized one. Too many chairs, not enough pool. This mixed with parents not watching their kids who did cannonballs repeatedly into the pool did not provide a relaxing experience. Overall it was a pleasant stay but if you plan to do more hanging out at the hotel pool, lobby, or cafe, be aware that you will run into the issue of finding limited space.

During our recent stay at the Hilton, we were blown away by the outstanding service provided by Nixon, one of the guest services team members. From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond to make our entire group feel welcome and valued. What really stood out was the personal attention Nixon gave to every member of our party — he made a point of addressing each of us by name, including the little ones in our group. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare and made such a difference in how welcomed we felt. Nixon also surprised our grandchildren with adorable little stuffed turtles, which absolutely made their day (and ours!). It’s the kind of small, heartfelt gesture that turns a good stay into an unforgettable one. His warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care for our family are exactly what hospitality should look like. We hope Hilton knows what a gem they have on their team. We will absolutely be back, in large part because of Nixon! Everett will miss you!

The location is very good, close to many restaurants and right across from the beach. However, I would likely not stay here again. When we arrived, we were told due the A/C being broken in our room, they had to put us in an alternate room for one night and then we’d have to move. I wanted to be flexible but the room they put us in was like the side room of a larger suite, and the people in the suite had a screaming infant, and there was basically no sound proofing between the room. It was also annoying to have to hang around and move our stuff on the first day of vacation. The room we got was pretty nice, but completely barebones— literally not even an extra blanket and no utensils (not even a dish, plate, or cup) in a supposed “kitchenette.” Everything felt worn-out; the toilet struggled to flush and a circuit blew/broke when I tried to use the hair dryer. The room was also inadequately cleaned (pubic hairs in the tub and leftover items from previous guests in the drawers.) The elevators were constantly crowded, like a New York subway car, because they were slow and two of them shut down after a certain hour due to a rooftop bar. Going anywhere took extra time and meant being crammed into an elevator with tons of people. There were no available pool chairs for the first few days, and at the beach, we we got chairs but no umbrella— we were informed the waiting list for an umbrella was “11 people long.” I started to just feel… what the f$&@ am I paying for here? Everything was slightly annoying, not convenient, and run down, which are not feelings you want to have on vacation. The staff was extremely nice and tried to be apologetic but this place is not cared for and you’re expected to put up with a certain level of dinginess.

Daisy Shum was a delight to work with! She addressed my concerns, was patient with my requests, and went above and beyond to meet my needs If I owned or operated a hotel or any other customer service business, I would want her interacting with all my customers.

Nixon was an excellent host. He is with the guest services and helped bring our luggage and groceries up to the room. He made sure that we got all the extras we needed for our room and got us coupons for cookies. Make sure to get those! Even though I know he is doing this for everyone he still makes it personal to each person. He remembered our names! I hope to be back next year! Overall service was great too. Everyone is so kind!

Amazing experience with incredible staff and views. But THE best person was Petrone at Ilios restaurant! She’s an Absolute delight and we went back and asked for her each time we went. Petrine is one of the best we’ve experienced during any travel, domestic or international
