It was well located in town and back suite was quiet. The one staff we saw and who served us breakfast was fantastic but seemed to be doing every job there.

It is run down and overpriced. It was not very clean and things like tea and ice were not replenished. Mattress was hard on the back. The breakfast was quite basic given my B&B experience of breakfasts elsewhere. Very difficult to get anyone on the phone when calling the B&B. They seemed very short staffed.

After staying at the Hartstone Inn, I am now thoroughly convinced that Trip Advisor reviews are either paid endorsements or that people have a very low standard. The Hartstone Inn is quite simply a dump. The Inn is outdated, dirty, dark, and in need of major renovations. The carpeting in the hallways is stained and dirty. The room was also in need of deep cleaning. I could go on and point out the endless issues with the Inn, but suffice to say, we thought about checking out 5 minutes after checking in, but it was late in the day and we weren't sure if we could find alternative lodging. I would never stay here again. Simply Awful!

The breakfast was good. The staff was very accommodating when we asked for a modification. The French press didn't work so well and produced a very gritty coffee and the complimentary coffee machine in the lobby didn't work for us. I enjoyed the very hands off approach of this property, but sometimes it was almost too hands off.

Our room was a little small but there were plenty of storage spaces and surfaces for us to arrange our belongings, so the size of the room wasn't horrible but did make moving a little tight.
