Property clean, breakfast was good and playful, location felt safe and accessible.

Pool was nice.

I was driving all day from Austin, Texas. The last 3 hours were with blinding, flooding, horrible rain. I had had enough. Ten minutes left on I-40…lightning everywhere. All of the highway lights went off. The thought never occurred to me that the city would be out of power. When I finally got to this wonderful hotel, I realized there was no power at all. Would I be allowed to check in? Would I have to sleep in my car? I was absolutely NOT driving one more inch. I was grumpy. And DONE. I had to park on the opposite side of the hotel from the lobby. When I decided it wasn’t raining too hard, I got my things out and started the trek. Before I walked 20 steps, a lovely woman with a flashlight on her phone was happily chatting with another lady coming my way. She asked how I was and I said, “I’ve had better days!” She said to wait right there and she would be back to escort me to the front door. She was helping the other lady get something from her car. I waited obediently. Shasta was a breath of fresh air. She was so friendly and I felt the hotel was in great hands. She helped me carry my things up the stairs to my room and offered anything she could. She didn’t know when the power was going to be repaired. I spent a little over an hour in my room with my flashlight on my phone. I was just about to go to sleep when the power came on at 10:21 p.m.

I stayed for a week and my room was cleaned only once and I had to ask housekeeping to clean it. They said I was not on the schedule, but they cleaned it anyway, but I had to go get facecloths and hand soap. I also had to get toilet paper from the front desk.

It is right on I 40 and adjacent to resturaunts, and shopping.
