Fort Place Bed & Breakfast

I have to say that my experience was great. When first driving into the St George area of Staten Island I became somewhat worried as it looked a little questionable. Boy was I wrong. This is a very diverse area and I ended up loving it. If you are New York City bound this is the place to be. This bed and breakfast is in a great location. It's about a 5-7 minute walk to the St George Staten Island Ferry Terminal. The Staten Island Ferry provides services every 30 minutes. It's about 25 minute ride and you are taken to the Whitehall Terminal in Manhattan. Not to mention the ferry service is free. This Bed & Breakfast is a super choice if you are visiting New York City. The pricing is right and everything is available to you.

Fort Place B&B is in a great location only a 15 minute walk from the Staten Island ferry, which is a convenient and free way to get to lower Manhattan. A simple but satisfying breakfast is brought to your room at 7:30am which allows lots of time for sightseeing in Manhattan

Elegant older home close to restaurants, Staten Island ferry. Good location for touring Manhattan - just a 30 minute free ferry ride away. Staten Island ferry sails past the Statue of Liberty and 20 minute walk to. 9/11 Memorial/Museum.

A nice B&B in a fantastic location near the Staten Island Ferry. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Also a microwave and kettle were provided! The Host was very friendly and really helpful. I would thoroughly recommend this B&B to my friends and family!

VERY short walk to the Staten Island Ferry! Staff was very attentive and friendly! The ONLY thing was that we stayed on the top floor and did not have air. Thankfully, the weather was nice so it wasn't an issue. Other than that minor issue, everything was wonderful!

Clean, good location, friendly host, heating excessive, however outside temperatures dictate comfort.

House has a lot of character and the owner was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Very convenient to the free Staten Island ferry, so an easy alternative to staying in Manhattan.

Disappointed with the cleanliness of the facilities. Our bedroom fireplace was covered in cobwebs, and all the furniture was covered in dust. The bathroom was the same. On the plus side, we had the whole B&B to ourselves, and a good continental breakfast was provided each morning. Paul, the host was very helpful, and the property is only a 10 minute walk from the free Staten Island Ferry. The neighbourhood looks a bit tired, but was surprisingly quiet at night, so had good night's sleep. There's a Deli opposite. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the place, if it was given a bit of TLC, as it has many quaint features.

Relative cheap compared to hotels located in downtown provided you willing to "trade in" half an hour ferry ride each way (Free of charge) to the city.

Room was very nice and clean. The bed was comfortable. Paul, the owner, was very friendly. The neighborhood seemed a little sketchy but was actually pretty safe. Police station is nearby as is the courthouse, Staten Island ferry, minor league baseball stadium, public library and many cafes and restaurants.
