Courtyard by Marriott St. Petersburg Downtown

The valet Alex was superb. He is really a smart young man. Remember my name from the first day I arrived called me by name the entire time provided information that was valuable during my stay here in Saint Pete. He is an exceptional young man and you should have more people this on your staff. While overall the valets were great, but Alex in my opinion, went above and beyond to get to know me personally, Each time we interacted as I left and came back to my hotel so whatever you can do to recognize and acknowledge him, please do so if it’s a performance bonus or raise more responsibilities. He is an exceptional young man and someone who is going to go far in his life based on his interaction and I was here for four days and Alex was just awesome so I want to recognize him in Particular for his professionalism, his his personalization of getting to know me and not just a guest here and having fruitful conversation, very bright very articulate and was a pleasure to encounter during my stay.

Unfriendly front desk staff and not helpful. Accommodations requested prior to stay were not fulfilled. Coffee unavailable except for purchasing Starbucks. The staff was very unorganized. Easily overwhelmed. The woman in charge of the valet complained about her staff to all the customers. We could hear her yelling from our room the whole weekend. When leaving she said I'm supposed to open the door for you but my hands are cold so I'm not. I had excessive charges on my card that no one could explain. I went to the front desk to ask them about it and they said just call your bank. We don't have anything to do with charges. The only positive thing about this hotel is the location.

I've been meaning to write this review for awhile since my stay from 11/30/25 to 12/3/2025. Above Expectations Experience April and Brian truly made my stay at the Courtyard by Marriott St. Petersburg Downtown exceptional. From the moment I arrived, their service was outstanding—professional, warm, and genuinely welcoming. They were incredibly helpful with every request, always respectful, and took the time to engage in great conversations that made the experience feel personal rather than transactional. Their attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile clearly reflect pride in their work and in the hotel. Because of April and Brian, this stay exceeded expectations, and they are a big reason I would gladly return and recommend this property to others.

The property and location was great. The staff is amazing, shout out to Max, April, Brian & Alex who went above and beyond every day to make our stay great. Thank you all for the excellent stay. Frankie & Chris
