Courtyard Marriott Lake Placid

Very upset with quality of the rooms... Smell when we arrive, "clean" towels with black long hair, door alarm with flashing lights sound couple times, last night we had fire alarm at 4 am and we tried call reception and we realized phone didn't work... one of our rooms (we had four) at arrive had half made bed with dirty bedsheets. I except better quality from Marriott... coffee shop didn't had lids for coffee cups no one told us that at ordering "to go"

This hotel was disappointing but it had its good points too. After arriving late in the evening we figured out the next day our room had no heat. It was broken and could not be fixed. We did get a space heater which was appreciated and the service engineer was quick, friendly and professional. The front desk staff went above and beyond to address this issue which was really appreciated. Overall the room was in need of some TLC. It needed a real cleaning, some dirt on walls, baseboards were missing in spots and mattresses were worn and soft. Lastly and worst there is absolutely no soundproofing between rooms and we spent a couple hours listening to our neighbours yell at their kids and their kids yell back. It was awful. The coffee in the bistro was some of the best in hotel coffee I’ve had and well worth the price. Early morning staff at the cafe were friendly and quick. Overall seems like good staff but the facilities need some updates and attention.

Great value

Overall, great visit. Typically, however, there is complementary coffee in a hotel and not $5 Starbucks. Just a pet peeve.

The restaurant is a kiosk, and the food is like fast food. Both hot tubs were broken. I called the night before and they said everything was working. The location was very far from Lake Placid Center. The hotel was very "worn-out looking".

Not Hiker friendly. Both nights we were awoke by hockey kids running up and down halls. Saturday was the worst at 11 pm called the front desk. No problem will take care of it. 11:30 the kids were still in stairwell next to our room then running down and banging on door including ours. Called front desk again and was told he couldn’t leave the desk to deal with the kids. He refused to call his manager and have them come out to help eliminate the problem. But the parents were all in the bar area if I’d like to talk to them. So I went to front desk and was pointed in the direction of 18 parents which I had to get their attention and inform them of the problem. Only one parent stood up and left to go upstairs. The rest were deer in the headlights approach. Why on earth is up to the paying customer to police the property..needless to say it was after 1am when we felt back asleep. We spoke to the girl at front desk in morning and asked for the manager. She said they didn’t arrive for 30 minutes so we went over what went on the night before and left our phone number.. it’s now been 7 hours later and we have not heard anything. I would not recommend staying here. Very poor management and policies in place. No way should any customer be made to confront problems like this.
