Booking said one price and when we got to the hotel we had to paid doble because taxes and all the feed that booking don’t tell or charge for it.

"Currency scam - do not book in US$ - your rate will be converted at crazy rate"

The property is fine. The room functioned OK. Water pressure was not; the water trickled out of the shower. The bathtub had no drain plug and was unusable. My big issue with the Marriott in Torreón is the currency scam. They quoted my rate in US$ but converted the US$ to Pesos at a crazy 20 pesos to the $ rate, a 12.6% surcharge. Marriott in no way disclosed the surcharge in advance - this is a scam. They did not agree to honor the quoted US$ price. I urge visitors to demand a booking price in pesos or to not book. Marriott is in deep legal trouble in the USA for hidden fees and these Mexican properties are flagrantly adding undisclosed fees despite the legal issues at HQ. I had the same currency scam issue last night at another Marriott property in Mexico.

staff was absolutely amazing and attentive to anything we needed. Facilities was clean and up to date. everything was excellent. We ordered food to be delivered and was taking it to our rooms and they stopped us and invited us to eat our food in the resteraunt. I ordered one of each of their desserts after we ate and they were all amazing! It was probably the friendliest and most attentive staff I have ever experienced at a hotel. I’ve never had people so willing to assist in any way when we’re staying in hotels in the US. It was my first time in Mexico, as I was there with my wife visiting her family and our stay at the Marriot Torreón was really wonderful and made our trip much more enjoyable.

there was nothing we did not like. it was an excellent stay at this hotel.
