Grand Skylight Hotel Shenzhen Zhonghang

The hotel is located in an excellent area. There are many shops, restaurants and a big park next to it. The buffet breakfast was excellent.

The elevators were divided into two: ones for higher floors and ones for lower floors. Since there were 19 of us,, we were scattered all over. When I booked, I requested that the 9 rooms be close together. However, some relatives were placed in the lower floors, which made it difficult for them to come visit us in our rooms on the higher floor. Also, I booked a suite so our relatives can gather to chat. However, the bedroom was large but the living room was small, which made no sense.

The hotel is old and needs renovation. The door to our room was broken, and the air conditioner was outdated and did not cool the room properly. The breakfast was truly poor. The food was not replenished, the variety was limited, and 90% of the items catered to Chinese guests rather than international visitors. The staff did not know English, and even the reception staff had very limited English skills.

Good location, walking distance to the electronic market and the metro was just around the corner. The staff were very helpful and polite. The rooms were great, good place for a couple of nights in Futian.
