We had a nice stay here, the location could not be better, the room was very clean which is all I ever really want in a hotel.

Fantastic location near Kazan Cathedral. Very helpful staff. Charming breakfast room. Only caveat is that you walk up two flights of stone stairs.Great

"Quirky but welcoming"

8.0

They take their support of art seriously and have built a warm and welcoming hotel. Yes, it's a bit quirky (internal stairwell, bold decoration, double electronic security doors). But, the staff were welcoming and accommodating, the room was clean, and the location is great for metro/top sights/dining & drinking. I liked the history of the place and enjoyed the decor. Very happy with my stay.

"Antique hotel with good location"

10.0

Quite a pleasant experience as the hotel runs like a gallery with lots of antique furniture. Carrying my luggage for 2 floors was painful. Location right next to Kazan cathedral and 10 mins walk to Winter Palace only. Lots of restarants nearby.

"Special atmosphere and unmatched location"

8.0

The old, artistic decor is great. Very different from modern hotels. The stuff seem to try to help with any request, and their English is very good. My wife and I enjoyed room # 28: it's spacious and quiet. The hotel's location is excellent: we stayed in the city for 8 days, saw all the attractions, and never used public transportation. Had great weather, so enjoyed the walking. Breakfast could have a little more variety and served earlier (it only starts at 8). The hotel can arrange transportation to and from the airport for 1500 rubels, but if you take a taxi yourself it's only 800. They advertise having a kitchenettem, which we thought would be available for making your own coffee/tea, but this isn't the case: they sell you the drinks.

"Very cool place to stay in St. Petersburg"

8.0

While this hotel had its quirks (e.g., some rooms with no AC, short-sheeted beds, minimal amenities), the location and just overall "coolness" of this hotel make it a great experience. The staff was outstanding, and there is great art in the hallways. But you need to like quirky hotels, because it certainly is not filled with creature comforts.

"Location - perfect, Surroundings - quirky!"

10.0

First impression - Did we come to the wrong place??? From the maroon front door, up 4 flights of crumbly stairs it seemed an "Oh, no!" moment but step inside the doors and you are pleasantly back in time. From the breakfast room with its mix of antique furniture to the door decorations and art work on the walls by local artists, it is unusual to say the least. The room was clean and comfortable, continental breakfast a litle unusual - hot fried eggs but everything else cold. The service (by a very small staff) was always helpful. The location is, without doubt, is its star feature - half a dozen eating places were but a few steps away and it was in easy walking distance of the Hermitage. If you are travelling on your own, it is worth the extra expense of having personal quide - ours, Victor, (arranged by the hotel) was an absolute gem and the trip would have not have been the unrivalled pleasure it was without him!

"Great location"

10.0

Enjoyed our stay at Art-Hotel Rachmaninov. The staff are friendly and offer very good service, and the hotel is very clean and in an excellent central location. A minor drawback is that there is no lift to the third floor upon which the hotel is located.
