Cleveland House Inn

Cute little inn. It’s a perfect location, a short walk to the shops and restaurants at Bannisters and Bowens Wharfs.

From my first phone contact with the Cleveland House, I knew that we would have a special stay. They were friendly, professional and accommodating. The location is perfect for walking anywhere in downtown Newport, to the harbor and in our case for getting to the Jazz Festival. The rooms are comfortable and there's a full breakfast available for an extra charge. We will definitely stay here again!

The bed was very comfortable. The property was walking distance to everything

Parking was very tight. Bathroom was very small. No ice machine which was annoying. Would have liked breakfast included in the price.

So I get to Cleveland house Friday evening after a long day at the Jazz Festival to discover that my reservation would not be honored. I made and paid for the reservation weeks prior. At a steep price mind you since it was Jazz Fest. I wanted to take my fiance to the fest and have the classic Newport "Bed and Breakfast stay". Apparently, the owner, Rick Farrick, decided to MOVE me from the reservation that I paid a steep price for, to another of his "properties", decidedly much less than what I paid for. Busier location, on the ground floor next to the elevator and the parking lot. At this point, I had no other options. Never have I had an establishment not honor their reservation. Ruined what would have been an amazing weekend. Never stay at any place that will move you whenever they want to. Maybe a higher profile guest or someone willing to pay more money but you do not take a reservation, and their money for a stay, then that night just move them to a cheap location. Never again at ANY of your establishments Rick at "Inns of Newport"....Expedia, TripAdvisor, Google, Twitter, Newport tourism and travel will all have this review from me. Never been treated so terribly in my life....

Great place

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I stayed 2 nights with my daughter and felt very safe. The location was fabulous and we could walk to everything. I would definitely recommend this establishment to others! It’s unfortunate that they have changed their policy to require 5 nights.
