Holiday Inn Express & Suites Roanoke Rapids SE by IHG

Very friendly staff. Clean. Breakfast was very good, especially for complimentary.

I am Platinum Elite Member with IHG; therefore, this status affords me the opportunity to write about this horrible experience at the Holiday Inn Express Suites in Roanoke Rapids, NC. Previously, family members have used this hotel to book reservations for our family reunion. All has been great until this year in June (2025). The owner of the establishment made the following declarations to family members according to them: 1) He threatened to kick people out of the hotel if their name was not on the reservations. In other words, guests could not visit your room. Of course, it was understandable about spending the night; however, he stated no one could come into the room; 2) He stated no guests of the hotel could utilize the back door entrance even though they have key access; 3) He threatened to call the police if family members lobbied in the eating area. He almost DESTROYED the entire family reunion! I would never stay there again or recommend this hotel to anyone UNLESS IHG does something about this! DO NOT STAY THERE!

Staff very friendly and the room very clean

The beds were comfortable enough and clean. The room was large but very bare bones with no effort at decor or warmth. The concierge service was good. The breakfast was subpar with the worst scrambled eggs I think I ever had: very dry and tasteless. The seating in the eating area had torn upholstery throughout (see photos). Overall a 3.5 stars experience.

Hotel was very clean and spacious and the staff were very friendly.

Clean, hospitable staff, comfortable beds, quiet. Our only disappointment was the barely-average breakfast and the torn vinyl benches in the breakfast room. Good choice though.

Excellent experience

The facilities were clean. However, the walls and doors must be thin because we heard people talking and walking until close to midnight. Breakfast was light because they were out of many of the hot items, i.e., eggs, pancake batter etc.

It had high ratings so I was really surprised that there was mold on the lamp shade and mold on the shower head and shower floor. We couldn’t take a shower and were really disgusted.
