"King bed not guaranteed"

We booked the trip through Capital One Travel Portal and specifically booked a King bed (I only look for hotels with King beds) when we got there they did not have a King available and told us the bed types are not guaranteed. The Capital One Portal gives options for King/Double or King. They should not provide the King only option if it’s not guaranteed. I would not have booked this hotel had I known the King would not be available.

"Magic Mountain resort"

Awesome resort. We had a junior suite with a view of Arenal Volcano. Daily breakfast buffet was very good. Staff was friendly and helpful

There is a cat is the hotel. He is very cute and was in our room so a house cat. Just like home, a cat is house so that gave me a felling of being home.

The room was clean, although there was some mold in the bathroom. The bed was spacious and very comfortable. Unfortunately, our junior suite had a hot-tub that did not work very well and the sliding glass door seal was broken so you could not see through the glass. Staff was very friendly and the breakfast was excellent.

Property was not downtown but still walkable to restaurants. Nice pool area and they actually had HOT hot tubs! The other places we went didn’t. So we were happy to sit in a hot one in the evenings. Clean and nice rooms. We were in building two with a perfectly clear view of the volcano! Bar upstairs was nice. Buffet breakfast was great, especially the omelette station for my son! Great place to stay in La Fortuna!

The hot springs were quite cold, and the 20% spa discount offered through Expedia was not honored. Only one elevator was working at times, which was inconvenient. Honestly, for the price, there are better hotel options with more reliable service.
