Villas HM Paraiso del Mar

Started off our stay with a fairly unpleasant beginning. We were greeted and told that they didn’t have our room- they overbooked. They can put us in a better room for the night, but we will need to move the next day- so essentially, inconveniencing my family as to not inconvenience another family. Mind you, the only differences to the rooms were a 50 Foot walk. We did the hotel the courtesy of obliging without much fuss, but I find out later that they told my husband that we would need to check out at their normal time, and wouldn’t have a room until check in time, putting me and my 2 kids out of a place for 4 hours. A room that we had already paid for. When asked why they would do this, they told my husband that it is just policy. They didn’t even seem to be concerned or apologetic . When I found this out, I asked to speak to the manager- and explained that we did them a favor by being okay with switching rooms mid day, but that it was completely unacceptable to kick me and my family out of a room that we already paid for- as well and completely inhospitable. The gentlemen who was the front desk manager kindly obliged and told us we could stay in our room until our other room was ready. The fact that they didn’t offer this at first is truly mind blowing. The very essence of hospitality was lost to the first two people who checked us in. Now, the property itself is LOVELY. Amazing part of the beach, great pool and very well maintained. The rooms and beds are comfortable, nothing fancy but we were happy. Unfortunately, the unnecessary “hotel rules” really is holding this place back from being a 4 star experience. The staff are very nice, but you can tell that the hotels policies are not “guest first”. There are many annoying inconveniences that were not even explained to us by the front desk at check -in. We had to figure everything out ourselves. For example, they didn’t tell us the hours of service. They didn’t tell us you need to put a deposit down so you can run a tab throughout your stay- we were literally hunted down to pay for a latte, when they have our room number and our credit card on file. It’s ludicrous and annoying. We also had to ask about beach towels- which you also need to pay a deposit for, lol. Anytime you want a towel you need to give them a card and then return them at the end of the day. My sister asked for a spoon and was told “no,” lol. The drinks by pool take longer than drinks by the beach- I have no Idea their system of ordering but three times I waited 20 minutes! I would never do the all inclusive, but the breakfast had a lot of options- I didn’t think it was great but certainly not bad. The sushi restaurant at the upstairs bar was really great- service lacked but he tried. Go there on your first night if you don’t feel like heading to town. This spot is beautiful, but is poorly managed by HM. The employees don’t seem well trained and again, it’s just not guest- centered. I wouldn’t stay again, but if you don’t care about their rules, it’s a nice stay.

Excellent place very peaceful, clean good drinks snacks and food very good service and very nice hospitality.

Great stay, lovely quiet spot with nearby access to great amenities and fun in town. Check-ins from wait staff were a lot at times, but they were always friendly and professional. Great drinks, good food, nice tree cover and shade and lounge spots by the pool and beach.

La posizione è ottima, sulla spiaggia, anche la colazione è molto fresca, molta deliziosa e con molta varietà, solo il caffè non era buono La camera bellissima e spaziosa, letto molto comodo. Molta natura sul’albergo,,,, bellissima la struttura

Solamente il staff, principalmente la reception, c’era un gruppo in piscina dopo le ore permesse, stavano urlando, ed io ho chiamato tre volte a reception senza che loro facessero niente. C’era troppa sabbia nella camera e ho chiamato perché lavino il pavimento, la donna della pulizia si ha lamentato dicendo che sempre c’è la sabbia, che era impossibile pulirla bene, dopo chiederle di nuovo di lavare il pavimento, l’ha lasciato pulito,,, ma dopo uno scambio sgradevole! Sembra che ci sia un accordo con reception e i taxi dato che la prima volta insistevano che io avevo richiesto un taxi volevano che lo prendesse quasi per forza, cominciano a parlare prima uno e dopo due e tre facendo pressione. La seconda e più strana è che il giorno di far il check out, abbiamo chiamato un taxi che abbiamo conosciuta, la reception si hanno reso conto, di seguito hanno apparito due taxi e di nuovo il staff dicendo che forse la nostra taxi ha chiamato un altro, e dopo dicendo che costava lo stesso, che prendessimo il taxi che hanno chiamato,,,, dopo che nos ha preso la taxi che abbiamo chiamato, ci ha raccontato che loro fanno queste cose sempre
