"Great Cave Room. Excellent food"

8.0

The hotel is very nice. Rooms are terrific. The downside many rooms are outside of the main building and the walk there is not nice, but when you get to your room, you feel like in 5 start room hotel. Dinner was fantastic, great atmosphere, excellent home made food. They have an amazing buffet of greek appetizers. The owner of the hotel is on top of everything. Totally worth it to stay there

The manager is very kind and it's a very nice hotel for a value. I enjoyed the courtyard and dinner the most. Very quite and relaxing location. The renovations they did on the building are phenomenal.

"A perfect Gem in Cappadocia!"

10.0

Selcuklu Evi is the best! The owner, Halil was simply amazing. Personal, present, friendly - everything you could want. The staff was so helpful, and the rooms were clean and well kept. The perfect way to cap off an amazing weekend in this enchanting land. Halil even organized a day long tour with the best tour guide ever - Hamdih - make sure to give him a hug the next time you go.

"Cave dweller for a night!"

10.0

Aside from the fact that the rental car GPS unit did not have the address of the hotel (I called the hotel and they sent someone to direct us to the hotel) and the rainy weather during our one night stay, the experience at the hotel was very positive. We would like to come back on a day that would allow us to walk around the town without an umbrella.

The courtyard was great and thank you very much for letting us have an egg hunt for our grandkids. The breakfast was very good as well. We loved everything about the hotel, the location, the amenities, everything was great. We felt at home, thank you.

"Will come back to stay at this hotel"

10.0

All staffs are wonderful, breakfast even provide typical crepes eventhough can use a bit more variety of fresh fruits like plum or local apricot. Yasin Ozbas is a great communicator and able to help me with last day transportation include last minute sight seeing. My room has a wonderful terrace. I wish the bed is not very firm. Walking distance to downtown Urgup, only 5 minutes and you can enjoy fresh grapes you can pick from the vine (hanging on small walkway between this hotel and its sister hotel, Surban hotel).

"Exceptional"

10.0

This hotel is just outside of Urgup, a small town in the Cappadocia region of Turkey. It's reasonably close to the tourist sites in the area, and Urgup itself is small but very charming. The owner could not have been more gracious to me and my wife. The room was lovely. The hotel is spread out around a beautiful courtyard where meals are served. The personal service we received made out stay very pleasant.

"Very charming hotel with a few glitches (especially if you're over 5 ft 8)."

6.0

At first entrance the hotel seemed very charming with an inviting garden and seating arrangement, which remained the highlight of the hotel. We were traveling with our 3 children (2 of them teenagers). Therefore it sounded perfect that the hotel offered triple rooms, as well as family suite. So we were booked into the "Anatolian Suite", which consisted of a triple room adjacent to a double room. However, the room we stayed in was facing the alley behind the hotel (hence a constant smell of dirty water!!) plus the room was tiny all around. The shower was so small my husband couldn't bend down to wash his feet. And it didn't help that the tiny bed also had a foot board, making it impossible to sleep in any other position but fetal all night long. Having said all that, i would not rule out the Hotel, because it was also charming, well located and offering a nice B'fast. Make sure to request a larger room and stay away from the Anatolian suite. By the way, the hotel staff spoke very little English and it took us forever to find the place on our arrival, because no one cold tell us where to go. So make sure you go with adequate directions and a good map of the area.

"Handsome setting, quiet, and charming."

10.0

This is one of two adjacent hotels owned, it seems, by a family, located at the edge of town. In July 2009 the surroundings and hotel were quiet. The building design is handsome, the furnishings (including lovely crafts objects) are, too, and the garden court where you dine in summer is most appealing. Our room had a vaulted ceiling, an embroidered coverlet, and carved doors. The other guests we saw were mature couples and singles, and well-behaved families, but this would also suit young adults who want a tasteful rather than hip atmosphere. The owner will try to sell you a carpet from his adjacent shop and steer you to his friend, a taxi driver, but you can resist and you'll still be treated well. He'll also tell you about a public bus to Goreme and provide a map of his town. It's a short walk downhill to the center of Urgup and not an arduous climb back up to the hotel.
