Travelodge by Wyndham Dunsmuir

It was clean and quiet. There is A restaurant in the parking lot, which was very much needed, due to the fact that no coffee was provided complimentary by Travelodge, at the same price as other Travelodge that do offer at least coffee. So, that actually makes the experience less appealing to stay there again.

No in room coffee offered. No outside shade/rain covering available. And if you have kids, this is a problem when it's raining. Or if you want to smoke, no shade covering is available on the property. No lobby to hangout in or sit and read. No table to sit at in the room. Mostly the place caters to the railroad/road crews. There is a huge lobby for them, with coffee , TV, games, etc...but it is unusable for the rest of the guests. I know, I asked.

What a find! We had a long travel day going S on I-5. This place is just S of the mountain passes that were likely to have snow or ice in the morning. Barbara at reception in the diner next door was great. Because we pulled in at 8p, it was great to have a 24 hour diner. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast at the diner was delicious. The breakfast burrito was flavorful with lots of veggies. James was a server extraordinaire, friendly and attentive. Kudos to Steven the cook. He seemed proud to be cooking classic diner food. We would definitely recommend this Travelodge and Penny's Diner.

Check in and minimal staff are located across the parking lot from the building with no lobby. The 24-hour diner serves as the "lobby". WiFi was available in The Diner but not in the building with the rooms. The woman at The Diner accommodated my unusual food need but the whole experience was not standard Wyndham.

Everything was fine but was hit with a stink of a kids locker room when we walked into our room. The internet was down the first night and no cell service to find another motel. They did not have another room to accommodate us.

Short staffed.

We really appreciate this place… the convenience just off of the road and the wonderful diner on site. This is the second time we have stayed there and we were happy both times. The amenities are relatively simple as the building/ rooms are a bit older, but super super clean. The bathroom door didn’t close and lock all the way, but it was no big deal. Building felt safe with only one locking entry. Just as the first time, the staff at the diner and hotel were fantastic!!!
