Beautiful hotel, with friendly staff.

Friendly staff, location is good and property is clean, though there were times no one was at the front desk for extended periods. Some amenities (e.g., shampoo) were missing, and the water shut off twice while I was there (I was told it wasn't just that hotel that was affected however) which meant I couldn't take a shower. Nevertheless, overall good experience.

A hotel that advertises itself as boutique. It sits on Calle 60, just off the north side of the Plaza Grande. The main entrance is modest, sitting between tourist travel shops and bureaux de change. But on getting beyond the utilitarian reception desk, there is a loverly airy atrium leading through to a small garden, pool and restaurant where breakfast is served. We had a small double room overlooking Calle 60 with a small balcony. The room really was very small with little space for anything, and with a proportionately tiny bathroom. The street-fronting aspect gave some natural light but the street also gave much traffic noise from 5am, enough to wake us. The saving grace was that the square did fall quiet by 11pm. Service was perfunctory but adequate. Continental breakfast was barely adequate and is not recommended; the full breakfast looked better value. Overall a great location, but boutique only in style, image and price. Service and room were barely adequate.

This is a somewhat charming hotel, well-situated in the center of Merida, but is very far from being a four-star hotel. Rooms are much smaller than advertised, the bathrooms have no air conditioning, and the front desk is not a true 24-hour front desk. If you arrive back to the hotel after 11 or 11:30pm, you have to text the hotel via WhatsApp to have someone come and open the door for you, often waiting over 5 minutes on the street to have someone come. In my opinion, this is really just a two-star hotel that just has a great location. That being said, most of the staff were very nice and helpful, minus the hotel manager…who was not whatsoever.

A beautifully jewel in Merida, a fantastic city. Service is first class and excellent cuisine with Chef Alfredo. Local could not be any better at half block from Plaza Mayor and Catedral, the old town section with beautiful Architecture

The staff was amazing. They assisted us with directions, taxis, and COVID testing to name a few things. Great service Piedra de Agua!
