Hotel Rotonda

We were visiting Thessaloniki for a few days for a wedding and needed a hotel near the city center so we could walk to see the sights. This hotel fit the bill. We stayed four nights. The room had sufficient space for two adults, although with no dresser, we had to keep most clothing in the suitcases and hang a few things in the closet. There was a desk, two chairs, and two night stands in the room, in addition to the bed. The bathroom had been recently renovated and had modern fixtures, including a large open shower. The shower was very nice to use, but the water drained into the rest of the bathroom, so we used the bath mat to dry off the floor after showers. Our room on the 6th floor was quiet. The free Wifi worked well our entire stay. The free breakfast downstairs included breads, cereal, hard boiled eggs, cheese, olives, cold cuts, fruit, yogurt, juice, and coffee each morning. We did not need the front desk services much, except to check in, check out, and once to call a taxi. Each of these was handled efficiently. If we come to Thessaloniki again, we would definitely stay at this hotel.

The hotel is ok but it is far from the city center. And also, it is not as good as it looks in the pictures. Somehow the pictures look brigthy and have a good angle, but being there is a little bit different. The courtines and the blankets have brown colour and the light is pale, making it look a little bit depressing.

Very small bathrooms, great breakfast, directly across from the train station. Great value.

The hotel was smoked out, our room smelled like smoke and we were not comfortable sleeping there with our 4 month old baby. The paper from the wall was peeling, the bathroom was dirty. The staff was rude after we told him we needed a can to get to a different hotel, and when we told him that the wifi would not connect. We did not stay at the hotel for the two nights we booked it and the staff would not refund us!

Just too bad facilities. No confort. Not clean. Too small bathroom. Not comfortable bed. Thats enough

We needed a hotel for one night in Thessaloniki after transatlantic flight and Rotonda, with all its limitations, served the purpose. Thessaloniki seems to be a cheerful city with crowded streets and remarkable churches from Byzantine times. Area where Rotunda is localized however is gloomy and has neither attractive dining establishments nor early Christian and Byzantine monuments. The parking space is limited, we were lucky to take the last spot. Another negative feature are slow tiny elevators which hardly accommodate 3 persons with small luggage. But apart from that, everything else was good. It was easy to find, it was not expensive, staff was friendly, room was big enough for 3 beds and breakfast was good. Also it was very clean. I would recommend it for short stay.
