Courtyard by Marriott Suffolk Chesapeake

The location was relatively near to my family’s homes

I didn’t find the staff to be courteous and one was just plain unprofessional and should not deal with customers. This is not a pet friendly hotel as a matter of fact there is a sign that says No Dogs Allowed. I choose the location because it was the first hotel in my search area that said it was pet friendly. After a full day of walking in and out with my dog I was told dogs are not allowed and my reservation should have been cancelled when I checked in. Then I was given a form to complete for my dog after I was charged for having a dog. I was not told in advance that I would be charged and no one informed me in advance that I was not allowed to have my dog with me even though I walked past the front desk folks about 5 times with my dog. No breakfast is included so that needs to be removed from the site. Overall it was a very disappointing experience I would never stay at a Courtyard Marriott hotel again. I found the staff to be unfriendly, they don’t even smile. They all look unhappy working except for Quinta who understands customer service

Room was clean. Shower was awesome. Staff very accommodating and welcoming.

Reservation included breakfast, however breakfast was not a buffet style setup. Everything was al la carte, even a cup of coffee!! The staff was short handed because of issue with a staff member and was completely understandable, so I’m not complaining a short handed staff Just wasn’t expecting an al la carte breakfast!

Easy checkin and clean.

We stayed for two nights and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience with room service. The housekeeping staff did not make the beds or change the bed sheets during our entire stay. I contacted the front desk, and while the receptionist assured me someone would be sent to take care of it, no one ever came. When I followed up again, I was told that the housekeeping staff might have skipped the room because we had left personal items on the beds — but this was simply not true. We made sure the beds were completely clear before leaving each day. This kind of service is not what I expect from a hotel booked through Expedia. The rest of our stay was fine, but the lack of follow-through and inaccurate explanation left us frustrated and disappointed.

The room but the first night. The room next door had a loud situation occur that was extremely loud and upsetting. I called the front desk and it was resolved immediately. The other nights were nice and quiet.

No free breakfast.

The property is excellent. Above 100%. Only problem was. Being a blind veteran. Rooms were extremely dark. To the point that I’d rather stay outside and be in the room. we had to go to someone’s house to get a lamp just so I could see my way around the room. Will not be back too dark.

The location was convenient, and they corrected my issue right away.

The rooms had a musky smell. They switched my initial room, but the second one also had the same smell. The rooms were also not as clean as I had hoped.

It was amazing! Employees are very friendly and helpful!
