Courtyard Cincinnati North at Union Centre

There were a huge crowd because of some tournament and the parents were not caring what the kids where doing. it wasn't the fault of the staff but it was awful. the kids were running around screaming and it wasn't safe. food on the floor and the pool was overflowing with water.

Our check-in was fine until we discovered the TV in the room didn't work properly. We were told no maintenance was available (this was about 4:30 p.m.), so we had to pick up everything and move to another room. The person who checked us in was fine, but there was another clerk who was rather snide and not nearly as friendly. Someone spilled something on the lobby floor (dry, not wet) that was still on the floor when we returned to the hotel hours later. None of the soda vending machines worked, but the clerk put a sign on "Not Working" sign on them. And not that the staff can control it, but there were kids yelling, squealing, and running up and down the third-floor hallway on Saturday morning. Very disruptive and annoying.

Beautiful stay

The receptionist was rude and very nasty about dealing with questions. 1. She was rude when we checked in. 2. We ask to get quarters to wash a uniform and she waited for another employee to help. Lazy! 3. My daughter asked her about breakfast and she was loud about they don’t have a continental breakfast. 4. All they do is sit at the desk on the computer.

As soon as we got to the hotel, the boy who checked us in was really nice. When we got to the room the AC was not working so I went downstairs and he put us in a better room. All the staff was really nice and asking us if we needed anything. I would highly recommend this hotel!

BEWARE when travelling with children! Staff at this hotel are unaware of the cancellation policy! March 2024 I called this hotel on Thursday because my child was sick and I was worried about the cancellation policy. The person who answered the phone assured me I had until Friday at 4:00pm to cancel my Saturday night reservation. On Friday morning my child was still fevered therefore we decided to cancel our stay on Friday morning (6:00am) for our Saturday night stay. This hotel is CHARGED me the FULL night stay for Saturday night and claims I needed to cancel on Thursday. They looked up my file and did see that I called on Thursday to inquire about cancellation and although I was given incorrect information about cancelling there was nothing they could do!! I literally cancelled 6 hours after their “deadline” which is insane because I would have just cancelled while on the phone Thursday night had I been given correct information! I have been charged $189.66 and we cancelled on Friday morning!!!! I have never been so frustrated with a company such as Marriott!! They take your points away during Covid times. You start travelling again and the screw you on cancellation policy even when you call to inquire to make sure you are within the appropriate time!! Please beware of their customer service! Marriott has gotten so big that they have lost their customer service! We will be avoiding Marriott chains from now on. I highly recommend families avoid this hotel and the Marriott chains!
