Colonia Santa Maria

The hotel is right on the beach. (about a 1km to the left is main Calangute beach and about 1 km to the right is the heart of Baga beach). Location is just about perfect - baga nightlife is within 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Titos is less than 15 minutes walk. There are lots of restaurants near the hotel; you just need to come out to the main road (abt 500m from the hotel entrance). During the season, they have their own shack and sun deck. The staff is excellent. Very friendly and hospitable. Classical style cottages (each having 4-6 rooms) and good greenery. The cottages are well maintained; unfortunately we could only get a room at ground floor next to the restaurant; all sea view rooms were occupied. Our room had an average size bedroom (queen bed, cabinet with safe, 14 inch CRT TV with cable connection, 2 side tables, AC, Fan)and a living room. (sofa, dressing table, hot water kettle, mini refrigerator). The room was pretty decent but bathrooms were on the smaller side. The bed linen etc was also decent. Ala Carte at the restaurant is limited and not worth the price. Service at dinner and lunch time is very slow. It could take more than half an hour for the food to arrive. The liquor selection at the bar is just about ok. The buffet breakfast was good though not too expansive menu. The swimming pool is well maintained; it though is smaller than what it appears on the pics. Overall good value for the money during off-season (I visited in first week of June)

We stayed there for 3D3N. + Location is unbeatable. + Taxi, Rental Car & Bike is readily available + Good restautants and food courts nearby. + Staff is friendly and helpful. + Room service is quick and good. - Bathroom is really really small. Biggest drawback. - A bit overpriced, but worth staying. Overall...Recommended!

We had very pleasant stay for 3 days, Excellent location, right on the beach in between baga and calangute. a couple of mins walk! Hotel doesnt have its own beach shake! Good Break fast with limited menu options. Rooms were very tidy, not that spacious as seen in photographs but sitting room is an advantage. Bath room is very small :( Nice greenery around the hotel good to stay with family/kids. This HOTEL is recommended..

European style architecture. excellent location -nearest hotel to the beach. Food is not good but there are ample restra's & pubs just outside. even I got the cheapest deal at Hotels.com... Go ahead - Enjoy

Beautiful hotel, just afew meters from beach and walking distance to restaurants, shops and medical facilities(dentist, GP, Pharmacies) Good service. Not mcuh choice in Goan food and continental food is OK.

My stay was very good. Hassle free without any nosy interferences. Overall it was quite a satisfying stay. Its proximity to the beach is an add on.

I found my stay very enjoyable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recoommend it.

I am actually glad I picked up Colonia Santa Maria as my choice hotel to stay. the property is one of the best locations on baga beach....neat and clean, surprisingly their food is also excellent....though for improvement they could put LCD TVs instead of those 14" monitors,...and should also provide beach towels. Overall great value for money....dont forget to visit TITOs...and Baga Club next to the hotel.

A very bad experience. Rooms are not maintained properly, bathroom are very small.

Just returned from Goa, and I would absolutely recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in Goa on Baga beach. The hotel is a pathway from the beach, and has an excellent beach shack where you can buy cheap beer and excellent food. Would stay again. The service was excellent.
