Comfort Inn & Suites Grinnell near I-80

Everything is clean and staff is very welcoming!

The air conditioning in the rooms, at least both times I’ve been there , are not constant.

The room has a terrible musty odor. I even took time to look at a room on the second floor and it was even worse as it smelled of cigarettes, cats and musty odor. The AC did not seem to work properly as when we came back after being gone for the day or even an hour, the sheets bands and all towels felt wet. The towels never dried even while hanging on the shower curtain rod overnight or even two days. The ACalso smells so bad.You have to keep it so cold to keep the odor down. The carpet was wet from the AC. I guess when you have to keep it that cool in there, everything gets wet even the carpet was wet halfway throughout the room. Younger person at front desk when I checked in was very delightful and helpful. The others that own and run the hotel. Do not speak very good English and do not know what you want when you ask anything. Doubtful I will stay there again.

Breakfast was fine, especially when my favorites of scrambled eggs and bacon were served. The desk clerk, Meredith, when I checked in on Wed. and chatted with on Thursday was friendly and cheerful. I thought her to be outstanding, and very helpful. My request not to have my room cleaned, bed made, and fresh towels during my stay was accommodated which I appreciated very much. The king-size bed was extremely comfortable (would liked to have taken it home).

The room was clean and comfortable. Very quiet and as a lone traveler, felt safe and secure. Would return.

There is nothing bad to say about this motel, the staff was friendly, the motel was super clean, price was very reasonable. Very happy with my stay.
