Heart O' Chicago

Stayed for 2 nights when in town for Cubs games. The room was ok. No continental breakfast as advertised. No coffee on site. No fridge or microwave in room. The staff member I checked in with was rude and angry. The plus was it was an easy drive to anywhere we needed to go and parking was free. You could definitely do better, but you could do worse.

It’s a handy economical location to see a Chicago Cubs game. The clerk in the office was very helpful. But they have quit serving the Continental breakfast they advertise

The air conditioning could be better. Otherwise I loved that it was a short walk from the L seemed safe.

Nothing unique okay room with rather high price for a weekday check in but it is what it is

The check in was a comical fiasco. The completely overwhelmed clerk was arguing with 2 other walk in people when I arrived about their rooms. Months ago I had requested a non smoking double room on first floor. After a flurry of key exchanges I ended up in a smoking room. Very unpleasant.

The staff are all so amazing! The place is dated, but clean. The service is organized, friendly and efficient. Great location. Starbucks right beside it, too. I'll stay again.

This hotel is neat and clean but the room we had needs a major overhaul. The beds both felt like they came over on the Mayflower and the hand towels/washcloths were basically sand paper. Also, would it be so difficult to put up a few hooks on the walls for towels and toiletry bags? I saw another reviewer mention this and it would be a cheap and effective upgrade to the functionality of the bathroom. Our sink plug was down and drained at a trickle so that was interesting to navigate through also. I live off grid in a school bus with better functioning plumbing fixtures. However, for the price when compared to other hotels in the area, I’d stay here again even if they didn’t upgrade one thing. So, you’ve got that going for you, Heart O Chicago. Thanks for a cheap and clean stay for the DNC.

When we first got to Heart O Chicago the customer service was HORRIBLE. The manager or whoever he was extremely rude. When we got the rooms the air conditioning did NOT work and it was a non-smoking room which smelled like smoke. I want to get a refund if I can!

Bathroom needs hooks to hang towels or personal items

Really nice stay! Clean rooms, nice staff. Good water pressure. Lots of stuff around. :) :) :) Will stay again. Surrounding neighborhood was really nice! Thx <3 !
