Fairfield Inn & Suites Ames

Not one thing - see below.

The accommodation had been fully paid in advance for a week. Due to a plane delay, I arrived a day late. Instead of honoring the paid booking made, the hotel had cancelled the booking, took the money for the one night and THEN offered me the very same room again for four times the initial price.

The staff where great. We stayed a week, and never once had an issue. Room was clean, guest service was fantastic the staff always greeted us and checked in to see if we needed anything.

I typically do not leave negative reviews but this hotel is horrible. The first room had disgusting black hairs and yellow stains all over the beds. The lady at the front desk was nice enough and said we can either change the sheets or change rooms..we changed rooms. The second room did not have black hairs in the bed but had them all over the bathroom floor. The walls were filthy, the carpet was disgusting, there was soda or something else splashed on the wall and just left to dry, the pool was ice cold, there was bugs all in the lobby, and the bed was extremely warn out. I am disappointed Marriott is allowing these owners to use their name.

My shower curtain had mildew growin on it. I didn’t want or need housekeeping services so I dealt with it.

Great location, near of highway.

The hotel was much better than expected for the price. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast wasn’t much to rave about but decent enough. The pool and jacuzzi were clean but small. The work out room had equipment that didn’t work which was a bummer. But overall it was a good hotel.

Convenient location and good rates. Room was very clean and comfortable. I'd stay here again.
