Mahara Hotel & Wellness

I have traveled to Sicily dozens of times. I love it for what is perhaps the most layered and interesting history of any place in the world--Phoenician, Greek, Roman, Arab, Norman (Viking), French, German, and Spanish influences over 3 years create a unique place. Among the most unique places in Sicily is Mazara, with a very significant Arab influence. This is a beautiful and authentically warm city. My stay was made even more special because I chose Mahara Hotel. From the moment our group walked into the hotel, the smiles of everyone at the reception desk, Angela, Giacomo, Melissa, Sabrina, and Nicola, welcomed us so warmly and genuinely. Their smiles communicated--thank you for being here and discovering who we are and our city. Angela was especially attentive and asked us throughout our stay if everything was going well. Within one day, they knew our names and really went out of their way in so genuine a way to make sure we were happy (including trying to reserve a room where we could watch the Knicks Spurs game!). The hotel lobby is bright and leads to various courtyards that make one feel like being in the Middle East. The architecture and hardscape features as well as landscaping are just stunning, but it's the people that make this a truly special place. Even the head of the restaurant Nicola and head of waitstaff Giusy were so attentive to our every request and need, and with a group of 17 people that is not easy! One person in our group got sick, unfortunately, but Giusy made sure he had tea with honey and lemon at all times! They did everything with grace and genuinely warm hospitality. The rooms are quite comfortable and very clean with air conditioning and all overlook the central courtyard. There is a pool, a wonderful bar with a bartender named Marco who was so willing to suggest new discoveries of Sicilian liqueurs and cocktails. Even the cleaning staff greet you in the morning and say "Buon giorno," which means a lot. The hotel is so well located, right across from the lungomare (Boardwalk) and just a ten-minute walk to the historic center. The gardens and large courtyards within the hotel are truly suggestive of the Middle East. This is my first time in Mazara and Hotel Mahara, but I will surely return next year on my annual trip to Sicily.

Ritorno agni anno a soggiornare, tutto bene ,accogliente e pulito.

Terrible wifi, often lifts don’t work. Faculties in room more two star. Ripped curtain in our room. Offhand staff.

La comodità della location

Fondamentalmente una cosa, non si può soggiornare in una struttura 4 stelle con i lavori in corso per l' apertura della stagione. Piuttosto chiudete i giorni necessari, fareste più bella figura

Frühstück war gut. Parkplatz war vorhanden. Die Innenstadt fußläufig gut zu erreichen.

An der Rezeption bekamen wir erst ein Zimmer zugewiesen, dass wir dann wieder verlassen mussten. Die Verständigung haperte.
