Magnuson Hotel Dixon

This was the bathtub from our stay the other night, the manger told me that that leak must have just started, and that It was mineral build up and not mold. Nothing was done about it! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

If you are looking for an updated hotel, this is not the place for you. Furniture dated, older model TV, etc. We needed it for a one night stay and it was fine. Breakfast isn't much, but it is free and was fine. Was very dark in the back parking lot when we arrived. I would stay here again, price @ $45 was fair. Front desk clerk @ night & the one in the morning were very friendly and welcoming.

For what you get, a room here should be <$50/night. I take it it for granted a room isn't supposed to smell weird or have mold in the bathroom, so I don't give points for those. But my room had a clogged shower drain (the stopper and linkage had been pulled and was lying on the floor), noisy aircon and the one ice machine they had was down the stairs, thru a door and at the end of 2 long corridors - very inconvenient. Breakfast, which I had read in prior reviews was very good, was a joke (the management recently changed). Spend the extra, what? $15 and go to one of the chains. A 'known quantity" this place is not

My room had older furniture and fixtures but was clean, quiet, and comfortable with no bad smells, stains, or bugs. The TV, A/C, microwave, radio, and refrigerator all worked properly. The rear entry area needs a new door, carpet, paint, and deodorized, but I saved $30 a night compared to other hotels in Dixon and had a great stay.

I have been staying at the Magnuson Hotel for an extended stay. It is very affordable and the new management is trying to upgrade the rooms. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are good, especially given the price.
