Hotel Van Cleef

Beautifully decorated property. The host is lovely and patient explaining the history of the hotel. The staff couldnt be any more helpful.

We asked for a room with a double bed but unfortunately it was 2 single beds pushed together which meant that either of us falls into the middle crevice during the night. Im used to a hard bed so the mattress was too soft for my liking.

We visited Bruges for the first time in November 2025 and loved the city. Hotel Van Cleef added to our enjoyment of the city. It was the prettiest hotel with the nicest and friendliest staff, exceptional service with the owners present throughout the day to ensure all the guests were happy. I would recommend this hotel to any one who wants to visit Bruges. I am tempted to go back just to stay at the hotel again.

I can’t find a fault with Hotel Van Cleef. The property is phenomenal. Refined interiors make for a welcoming atmosphere, and you can’t beat the warming fireplace after a brisk day exploring Bruges. However it is the staff that make the hotel special… they define hospitality. Personable and attentive in a familial way, they truly made us feel welcome. Our stay at Hotel Van Cleef is one of our favorites across all our travels.

The staff were so personable that nothing was too much trouble but were not overly intrusive. Breakfast was outstanding. Very relaxed inside, with plenty of seating and open fire. Checking out after our stay was not rushed and there was no need to vacate our rooms early.

It comes to something when you have high expectations and are speechless upon leaving a hotel. From start to finish, I was blown away by the interior design, the warm and friendly welcome, the comfort, a room that exceeded all expectations, the subtle attentiveness of every member of the team, the exceptional breakfasts, the cocktail hours and the hot chocolate on the canal side terrace to enjoy the view. The hotel is in close proximity to the beautiful sites that Bruges has to offer. There are some lovely restaurants nearby, offering local specialities. This hotel is a class above the rest. It is genuine and delivers everything it boasts with truly exceptional attention to detail and hospitality. Thank you to the whole team for making our Christmassy getaway extra special.

Loved the homey feel and the service! They took care of every need and was always there. Definitely do the high tea and have breakfast by the fire every morning! Would go back tomorrow if we could!

What more can I add to what other reviewers have stated other than add another 5 star review for this amazing hotel. We visited in May this year and like others we put in our review that we would be back. And yes we returned in October as promised. There was a lovely welcome from all the team. We enjoyed not only the hotel but the city of Florence in another season. We will be back for a third visit in 2026 it’s that good,
