Lantern Lodge

It was like an apartment with a refrigerator, stove, microwave, washer/dryer…. Great location making it easy for me to attend all events as well as see some local sights and try the chocolates!

The ice maker on the fridge I think was leaking.

The two bedroom, two bathroom suite was roomy. The rooms were clean except the living room/dining area/bedroom floors. The bathrooms were very clean, as were the beds. The kitchen was fairly well appointed.

The promised on site restaurant was closed. I never could find a fitness center. The pool and hot tub spa were closed. For me, as a handicapped individual, the worst part was all the stairs. I had requested a ground floor unit, due to my handicap and did receive one. However, there were ramps that were steeper than they should have been to get to it. Even if the pool had been open, I would not have been able to climb the staircase to get to it. Although it is a non-smoking property, I was told there was a designated smoking area. It was also up several fights of stairs, about 1000 feet away from my lodging, making that inaccessible to me as well. I will be calling the manager about these issues.

We loved the spaciousness of our suite. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect.

I didn't like the fact that a restaurant is advertised, and it has been closed. It just is not always convenient to have to leave the property first thing in the morning while on vacation.

The suite was surprisingly large, comfortable, clean and the balcony was lovely

Vicinity to the Biltmore Estate.

Worst mattress in NC had to be in my room. Extremely uncomfortable nights sleep constantly woke up in pain. Cheapest toilet paper available was used to stock the units restroom. Equivalent to sand paper.
