Forest Dunes 1501 Escape!

We really liked the layout of the room and were surprised by the amount of space, plenty for the 2 of us. We will definitely be back, may even be interested in purchasing a condo in this building.

We are always pleased with Forest Dunes, we have stayed there several times. This was our first time being a guest in the winter and we are coming back in August. Our hope is that they have corrected an issue they had with the air conditioning units last summer...August in SC with sub par AC wouldnot be fun

Can’t beat it for the price but as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. In all it’s not a bad hotel and we would stay there again. the staff was helpful and friendly. Kitchen was fully stocked. The bed wasn’t the comfiest but it sure wasn’t the worst either. The couch was old, stiff, and dirty. Definitely needs to be replaced. Other than that it wasn’t a bad retreat. Right across the street from the beach. Indoor restaurant and bar. If you don’t need up to date furnishings then it’s a nice condo but if you need granite counter tops and oak cabinets then I suggest another hotel.

My son and I stayed here for 1 night only - a kind of nostalgia thing, as the whole family had visited here in Dec 1995 & again a few weeks later in early 1996. The place hasn't really changed. This time, with only 2 of us, we chose a 1-bedroom condo. The bedroom had rather garish outdated bedspreads, and the bedroom was TINY. The TWO bedroom lights did not work. Having a double bathroom was great, and the kitchen/dining/living room area was spacious and well-appointed. The deck was of course fabulous!! But the furniture was cheapie, and one chair was broken. The spa is large and HOT, and the lazy river & pools are great. The location is great - at the very Northern end of Myrtle Beach, away from the crowds further down the Strand. The beach is across the street and the BEST BEACH EVER. That alone is worth the price of a room here!

These units are privately owned so it is a crap shoot what you will get. Our first room was so outdated. It had 1970 like furniture. The plot catch was broken and stained and filthy. The front desk the ditch good job and upgraded our room. To a Nother unit that was somewhat outdated that much cleaner. The mattresses were still stained and gross. That is nice hotel however are spectacular. So take your chances

Don't let the small check in desk fool you.Very nice condo for couple or small family. The hotel has a pool that goes to a depth of 8 feet deep. They have a lazy river and a hot tub. Beach access directly across the street from the beach. Chairs and umbrellas setting up on the beach by the hotel. Very nice!
