Wow what a place! Thornbury castle was the most amazing place I have ever stayed at, from the moment I walked through the door until we left, I felt totally relaxed and it was good to see my husband completely the same! We went for a special birthday overnight treat. From the waiting staff, to reception team they were all brilliant, attentive and knowledgeable and knew it was my husband's birthday which was very special.. I. Always wanted to stay in a castle, if you book this place, you won't be disappointed.. The rooms were amazing, comfortable and had everything you would need. If you really feel like making a grand statement, you can dress up like a real king & queen in authentic clothes. Food was good too, we had the light dining menu for a more casual experience but you can opt for a 3 course meal and breakfast full English was perfect . *Make sure to do the castle history tour with Tony booked though reception, he was very nice and knew his history well*

The other activities were rather expensive Ie axe throwing/archery and horse and cart ride.

Lovely room. Very helpful, friendly staff. Beautiful setting in delightful gardens. Good food.
