Danoya Private Luxury Residences

The staff are great but the villa itself is very dated. No renovations been done whatsoever. Looks clean on surface but some of the spots are pretty dirty. The shower cord was torn when we checked in, the Bathroom door was jammed. The ac in one of the rooms wasn’t working 100%, toilet seat was broken, downstairs toilet wasnt flushing properly. Again, staff was great and rectified all issues when addressed. Cannot fault staff. However will not recommend visiting this place until renovations have been done. Im surprised how luxury escape have this villa on their list of recommendations places to stay. Again pretty average.

The staff were amazing the pool was huge and a perfect depth. The kitchen had fresh water machine made it easy for coffee and nice cold drinking water. The 5 bedroom villa was huge but lacked aircon downstairs and it got stinking hot but they lent us a portable aircon. Just before we left a new mini mart opened up just down the road just a few minutes walk which is very handy.

I booked 4 villas and friends of ours stayed in a 2 bedroom villa 23 my family and myself stayed in villa 22 the 5 bedroom and our friends had washing done and they paid cash and someone in reception altered the docket and changed villa 23 to villa 22 and tried to charge us twice which you can clearly see in the first photo ive added. I also suggest you take a complete change of sheets pillow cases and doona cover if getting a tattoo as they give you a doona cover to wrap around your tattoo and charge $20 if you get ink on anything.

We booked and paid for a honeymoon package and it’s was poor a few flowers and towels on bed cost us $150 extra ( our next hotel had more and free ) we according to booking package had dinner in Villa with extra flowers candles and decorations after trying to book dinner we were told no it doesn’t happen showed our booking details clearly stating hooneymoon package inclusions mind you we booked in June 4 months ahead Didn’t make us feel special or celebrate very disappointed. My husband had planned it all and was angry and queried and the best they organised was an entree sized meal in the restaurant that we had no choice of , it was handwritten on a piece of paper and was take it or forget it situation not the romantic 3 course experience advertised and photographed on their page and website but if we wanted to upgrade they happy to give us what we already paid for just another 100 aid more not what was written on booking it pictured advertised etc - it was uncomfortable to have to complain we were trying to celebrate and husband gave up in the end - we paid top dollar also at peak time Our room wasn’t cleaned during our stay the bathroom was dirty and yuk -bed hard we hated to complain staff did their best management obviously are the ones making the decisions it was passable great security Bathroom was dirty as windows brown contact covered chipped tiles and bath etc Place needs painting not done for many years Broken kitchen cupboards dusty corners and not new and shiny like pictures but by no means luxury honeymoon experience , staff were friendly and lovely but feel are scared of big boss or management I did like the pool it was private but overpriced we should have gone else where for the price paid what was expected and an actual honeymoon experience Breakfast is organised and shipped in so not hot Delivered to room and Also gaps around doors bugs just fly straight in Bring mosquitoes bug spray Again not luxury passable Our next place we stayed was 1/4 the price a night and 10 times better

It had a beautiful entrance and each villa seemed really private Our Villa had its own pool which was nice but in shade 3/4 of the day

Go somewhere else, The villa was outdated and felt unclean. There was barely any hot water ( took 5-10 mins to heat up). Will not be staying here again, good location however there are nicer villas close to this property.

The worst hotel hospitality I’ve ever experienced, not at all accommodating to the things they did wrong. The laundry service destroyed our white clothes turned them Gray, keep in mind we separated ourselves the white clothings and the colored before sending it to them, and even asked to do them separately. The damage cost us worth 700euro and still they wanted us to pay for the laundry meanwhile they refused to pay back the damages and said instead “why would you buy that expensive clothes, I mean I wouldn’t”. We literally sent it to laundry coz they’re supposed to know what they are doing, common knowledge to separate white and colored. The management and reception was biggest disappointment. Promised to repay the damages in other services within the hotel offers but didn’t went through and still made us pay.

Stayed there 2 weeks and had terrible experience. Would never stay again. You actually do not even notice their worn out facilities, rooms and furniture anymore after having to deal with their poor poor customer service. And I do not mean a regular employee, but the management. Much to our disappointment we used their laundry service. Even separated the whites beforehand just in case. It all came back purple anyway. On top of that it now had stains that it never had before! My favorite clothes got irrepably ruined and that already says enough without even mentioning the financial loss. Unfortunately it only got worse after. The supervisor offered a free dinner at their restaurant (which was completely empty every single time we have passed by it in the 2 weeks we stayed there). Not to mention that we wouldn't pay for the disastrous laundry service. We did not want food. I just wanted my clothes back. The store still had it, but they said that they do not have the resources to pay for the damages they made. I could understand even if 2 weeks at Danoya costs 35 million rupiah, which is not cheap. I was told by the supervisor that if he was me he just wouldn't buy clothes for that price. Take it as it's your own fault basically for buying expensive clothes. We refused dinner offer and I repeated a few times that we will not pay for the laundry to which he agreed. He then said they could only offer driver services instead so we sat down and agreed that they will give us a lift to the airport and that they will drive us to see a famous temple up north. I told the supervisor that we are leaving different days and he agreed that they will drive me to the airport first and my two friends the next day. They took us to the temple, drove me to the airport a few days later and I thought we will just leave it at that. But the fun started when my friend called me saying that after I left they gave her the laundry bill and told her they will not drive them to the airport either. So she had to pay for them ruining our clothes!!!! Since I was not there anymore the supervisor proceded to tell her that he never said that the laundry would be free. My friends clothes were ruined too, she just was not as vocal about it as me. Just to put things into perspective the total damages on our end was 3 million rupiah, while a ride to the airport goes for 300 000 over there and a ride with a driver for 6 hours for about 600 000 (checked fact cause we booked that before during our vacation just not with them). Outright liars and scammers. Very very disappointed and would not recommend.
