The Firehouse Inn

The furniture and ambience of the facility is very stylish and antique as if you are going back fifty years into a rich man's home. At the same time there's no phone in the room and no heater just a fire place.. And the windows are leak outdoor air. So if you are sensitive to cold, it is an issue.

Merely by chance we stumbled across this jewel. Very charming, warm, and inviting B&B hidden in Rutherfordton NC. NO rooms are the same. Each guest has a different experience with a common culinary experience. Don't miss this one.

My wife and I stayed here for a night and we wish we had more time to stay another night. The history of this place is just awesome! The sit down breakfast, clean rooms, and courteous staff are just a couple of the high points we experienced during our stay.

If you love buildings with character this is the place for you. After a staple of cookie cutter hotel rooms this room takes you by surprise with it's uniqueness and charm. For instance our room had a real vault doubling as a closet, and a new garden style tub with Jacuzzi jets. There was cable TV and an old sitting room with a written history of the inn. This old inn is a hidden gem if you're on the way to Lake Lure or Chimney Rock. The staff was wonderful and the collegiality of the breakfast time was so enjoyable.

I stayed overnight for business, would have loved to spend more than one night, beautifully decorated room, clean, comfortable bed, slept well, very well, next morning, breakfast was being prepared by a lovely lady, frittata, fruit cups, grits, English Muffins, juices, coffee, yougurt, but overall, the friendliness of the people I met was something that stands out above all, lovely place, recommend to anyone, if for no other reason, just to feel the history of the old firehouse, I plan to take my grandsons at some point, just so they can climb the ladder in the room and sleep in the beds in the loft area, they would have a blast!!!!!!!

Clean, comfortable and good breakfast. We stayed in room 3 and and the room was spacious and the mattress was very comfortable. Bathroom was very nice with a separate dressing / vanity area with a large counter and closet with robes and slippers. Plenty of storage. Thank you Donna for the delicious full breakfast and great conversation. The dining/ living room area was large, comfortable and elegant. Snacks, coffee and drinks always available This B&B would be a great place to stay if you were having a family get together. Plenty of room in the dining area for everyone to hang out. Close to Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and Forrest City. Our room also had a gas fireplace, can't wait to come back in cooler months to enjoy this. There is a gift shop downstairs and outdoor patio area. I have already recommended this B&B to many of our friends.
