Halong Plaza Hotel

Hotel is slightly further from the sun plaza area but it was only a short taxi ride or 15 min walk away. We got a room with a partial sea view on the 11th floor, which was nice. The room itself was massive and clean.

Great for a stop over to catch a cruise boat but not much in area to see.

Nice hotel with really helpful staff. The gym and pool are a little out of date but still ok. The food is average in the four seasons but good for the first night if you havent been there before.

Large room with 2 single beds; soft beds and pillows. Large bathroom with separate shower and bath. Good view of the bridge and SunWheel from our room. Excellent buffet breakfast. Excellent service by staff all round. Good swimming pool (if cold!) Good room service. I got a massage which was good and firm All extras are chargeable. 15 minute walk to main part of town but nice to be in quieter area in lovely hotel

After so many bad experiences as a white western man in North Vietnam, either as tourist or business, this p!ace was a lovely surprise. Staff were wonderful and the food is first rate. Ha Long is a building site for a few more years and its nice to be able to get some peace and quiet.

Try the restaurant , both breakfast and dinner buffet are good too

Don't be fooled by the photos, this place looks great when you first check in, with huge rooms and a great looking pool, but the cracks soon show. Has clearly not been upgraded or well maintained for a long time, and basic services break down constantly (e.g. Wifi and TV reception are unreliable, phones crackle and are almost unusable, outdated keycard systems break down constantly - I had to have my card replace multiple times). Food at the restaurant is poor quality and appears to have just been reheated. Bar service is sloppy- expect to wait up to 20 mins for a way overpriced drink. The pool would've been fantastic, if it weren't for the fact that it is often taken over by school groups. I never once saw the pool bar staffed. Many of the staff are quite rude, and will leave you standing there for 10 minutes while they chat with one another. The majority have extremely limited English, to the point that it can take another 10 mins to explain that you would like to use an advertised service. Security is clearly also an issue - on multiple occasions, there were guests screaming in the hallways and in the restaurant, with no staff moving to defuse the situation. Children running through the halls unsupervised can also be an issue. I've stayed in a lot of hotels in Vietnam. This was by far the worst, and one of the most expensive. I will not be back.

great! excellent breakfast buffet, room comfortable, best beds ever, extremely comfortable. everything is very clean.
