Halong Plaza Hotel

Great place in Ha Long City, a bit far from the marina though. Breakfeast is plentiful and the buffet at the four season restaurant something to try at least once. Food is fresh and plentiful with elements like cook your own meat and fish you don't see very oftern. The staff at the restaurant is very helpful and freindly.

Pretty much room, staff, meal is great. Except I noticed the bathtub got stained it look gross, bathroom door was awful damaged before I check-in. The water doesn't drain quick at the shower area.

overall experience is ok.1km short walk to Halong park. friendly hotel staff. opposite right side of hotel have local drinks during the night walk all the way to Halong park u have outdoor local drink stalls and pubs

Unfortunately there were a lot of problems here. We purchased an upgrade to a suite hoping to spoil ourselves and we were left with a few problems. Dirty room, sheets, broken fridge. The pool was closed. There was no pool bar like advertised, not that it mattered with a closed pool. There were children running up and down floor screaming and yelling. When we asked for help with these problems we were met with staff that couldn't understand or speak English well. No one was willing to help us or try to fix anything. Then we were charged for 2 waters that were stated were complimentary. We ended up visiting the Local hostel.... which ironically enough was more comfortable with great service and staff that spoke and understood English thoroughly.... which is a small but appreciative gesture in a foreign country. There was no help with local tours from this hotel. We just felt a little isolated. Note to Anyone looking or hoping for a nice stay, you won't find it here unfoerunately. The local hostel we very much recommend.

Friendly staff and lovely buffet available for dinner.

This is a great property, a clean semi luxurious hotel with a wonderful restaurant. Located on the major thorough fare across from the water providing a beautiful view of Halong Bay, an amazing find for the price. Short cab ride will get you across the bridge to a multitude of solid local restaurants.

Travelers beware if you need transportation to or from the airport there's a huge price difference between the hotel and a normal taxis approximately US$30 - $40, however if you negotiate with the hotel the price comes down as the hotel wants you to take their private car and not the taxi. So travellers you have to be on the ball unless you support being ripped off.

Great hotel but poor area

I rented 5 deluxe rooms and was pleasantly surprised. Upon arrival we we're greeted with complimentary tea and enjoyed live music. Considering there were 10 people in my party the check in was easy and quick. The hotel has a full of 4 or 5 people working the check in counter. The rooms themselves are a little dated but well kept and very clean. The bathroom has a shower and tub which is not that common for vietnam. My wife enjoyed taking a bath after a long day of sightseeing The hotel has a pool table and bar in the lobby. Pool table is a nice touch but is pricey ...200k vnd per hour. Hopefully the hotel revises this rate lower for guests. There is a pool and gym. Went to the pool but found that it wasn't heated so didn't feel like going in. The best part of this hotel is the breakfast. Very well done and caters to a wide range of tastes. My American family and Vietnamese aunts/ grandma all away very satisfied.

We had booked two nights at this hotel but ended up staying one night. The hotel is pretty old and needs and update.
