Motel 6-Richmond, VA - Midlothian Turnpike

Horrible place to stay!!! When i got there there was still someone's rag hanging from the shower curtain. My key didn't work and the front desk person made me seem as if i wasn't whom i said i was and tried to make me show i.d. to get back into my room.

Good location

When I drove into the parking lot, There was an individual standing on the corner of the parking lot and the street panhandling. I noticed that there was a drug deal going down on the other end of the parking lot. I walked into the lobby. The front desk has bullet proof glass protecting the front desk worker. There was multiple shatter marks in it looks like someone hit it with a hammer or something?. When I went to check in, There was a lady checking in that was $1 short for the room, she was paying cash. The front desk worker waited for her to go to her car to get an add'l $1. We booked the room thru Expedia. I asked the front desk clerk to cancel, he stated that Expedia had to cancel. I called Expedia, they stated that the hotel had to cancel. When Expedia called the front desk, the front desk clerk, answered the phone and then immediately hung up the phone ( I was standing in the lobby watching, he wasn't aware that I was on the phone with Expedia ). Expedia tried to call back and the clerk would not pick up the phone. Long story short. I was charged for the room. I left a negative review on Expedia ( Expedia wouldn't post for whatever reason ) and then Expedia changed my review to a 8 out of 10 review. I protested the review, still waiting to see what happens. Lets see if Trpiadvisor post this review as submitted.

The day we arrived, There was a drug deal going down in the parking lot, when we entered the parking lot. There was a woman checking in who was short to pay.The hotel clerk made her go find money to check in, she was paying cash. The front desk had bullet proof glass covering the front desk, it was damaged. There was a homeless person panhandling in the parking lot. We came from St. Louis, MO. for the weekend on business. Tried to cancel, the hotel would not cancel and charged me for the room anyway. The hotel blamed Expedia. Expedia blamed the hotel. Both stating the other had to cancel. When Expedia called the hotel, the front desk clerk hung up. I was in the lobby watching. I would highly recommend that you keep searching, if you are in need of a room.

Well run motel with clean modern rooms. Convenient location with some good restaurants nearby. Enjoyed my stay.

Ut was close too a lot of stores. It was a fairly close drive

The cleanliness was horrible, the room smelt like smoke in a no smoking request, the sheets were dirty, and there was a cockroach come out from under the fridge.
