Grand Beach Condominiums by Wyndham Vacation Rentals

Very nice Condo. Very comfortable. Very Clean. Absolutely does not over look the beach or the Gulf which is the only reason we booked it. The description says it does, but it does not. We left a day early.

Overall my stay was wonderful there was only a few problems. There was a problem checking in because check in is not at the actual resort. There was only one roll omg tissue and one trash bag gota 5 day stay we had to go to the store. It is very clean and spacious enough for 8 people. I do recommend this resort if you are interested, and its also walking distance to the beach. And also the pictures on the website look nothing like the condo it's soo much better inside.

I would stay again :-)

First-of-all, it's not a hotel. There isn't a person on site as implied by telling us we could "check-in" late since we had paid-in-full, plus the term, "hotel". AT 1AM we had to figure out where and how to check-in and we're lucky a human answered the cancellation number and gave us the correct extension to bypass the weekend 800# menu. There was one roll of toilet paper for a four night-five day stay. The TV got very few channels and wasn't HD or large screen. We were told that to get an ocean view we would need to be on the 3rd fl. or higher, which we agreed to, so they put us on the 1st fl. with a great view of the highway. Then the cleaning fee was a complete surprise and required an additional credit card payment on top of our "paid-in-full" status. Hotels have receptionists, daily cleaning and don't charge extra for it! The floor was sticky and dirty. The dryer takes over an 1hr to dry a load? Pool facilities, parking, kitchen supplies and courtesy of ResortQuest staff were all excellent.

The condo was fine. I wasn't so happy that it wasn't readily advertised that I had to pay a cleaning fee. After arriving to check in, the person pointed it out on my confirmation but it was not apparent before I booked the room. He (at ResortQuest) even said that they have asked it to be made more apparent through your site.

Unit was nice enough, but we were frustrated upon arrival to find: NO kleenex, NO coffee filters, NO clothes hangers at all, NO HD on the cable and only a basic package, 1/2 roll of toilet paper. Sure did not expect to have to go to the store and buy a boat load of stuff the first day.....

We enjoyed our stay at the Grand Beach. The unit we were in was somewhat dated but had a nice updated kitchen with granite counters. The view of the beach is nice but distant. Highway 182 seperates the condo from the beach so the upside is a longer view of sand and seaoats, the downside is noise from the traffic. The unit had all the amenities that we needed; washer/dryer, good kitchen, utensils for cooking, housewares and cleaning supplies, nice towels and cloths. The only complaint I had was the selection of the 25 channel cable TV. No ESPN or any other sports but numerous local church channels- hope you like preachers! WiFi was robust though so Netflix via laptop was my viewing choice. The Gulf Shores State Park is next door with a great beach and 1/4 mile long pier with a bait and tackle shop.

I read reviews prior to booking our room and it seemed most people were unhappy about the street between the condo and the beach. I can see how this might be an issue during summer months but during our stay in October it was not a problem at all. Traffic was seldom. The condo was clean and large enough for six people comfortably (though there were only two of us). The location is also great. It's a few blocks from shopping and restaurants but far enough to feel secluded and to be able to relax. The view of the ocean was great since the land across the street is a park so no buildings to block the view. We will be returning!

We had a great time. The accommodations were nice. There were some signs of wear, but overall it was very comfortable. The only negative, although minor, was having to cross the street to get to the beach but even that was not a major obstacle. And as it turned out, we were close to everything we needed.
