We had a disappointing experience at a supposed 4-star hotel that fell short of this standard in every way. Despite purported renovations two years ago, the furniture was of poor quality, with cracked wood and barely functional wardrobes. The room amenities were extremely basic and sparse. The bedding was dirty, forcing us to sleep on out clothes and with our own towels the first night due to disgust with the sheets. After complaints, we were shown three more rooms, all of which were equally disappointing. We lost half of our day, not relaxing at all! It was only after demanding a refund that we were shown a fourth room in the main hotel, which still did not meet the 4-star standard but was significantly better than the others. We felt much more comfortable there and found it to be cleaner. The staff, especially Monika at the reception, attempted to resolve the issue prfofessionally by assigning us the fourth room in the main hotel instead of one of the studios. However, the price-performance ratio was still not appropriate, as we paid 120 euros per night. Furthermore, the receptionist told us, "We don't know what standards you're used to." I believe it's clear what one typically expects from a 4-star hotel. We appreciate the efforts of the staff, but overall, the stay was unsatisfactory and did not meet our expectations.
