Residence Inn by Marriott Newport Middletown

We have stayed at this property before, and it is convenient and a pretty good hotel. However, in comparison with the Residence Inn we just stayed at last month in Washington, DC, this one failed us in a several ways: 1) Breakfast--powered eggs, all breads wrapped in plastic, pre-packaged stuff.... 2) television couldn't hook into our Netflix or Hulu accounts... 3) rollaway came as a folded-in-half bed and was terribly uncomfortable. Staff was kind, and quick to help.

5 stars for all around greatness! The staff was amazingly kind. The place is totally clean. The location is great. If you’re traveling with kids but especially with a dog this place is perfect! The breakfast was perfect for the family with lots of options and always stocked and amazingly attentive staff. The pool and hot tub are top notch especially in the winter and is also very clean. The gym has a lot of top class options and is very clean. I can’t say enough about this place!

The staff was amazing!!! Friendly, professional and very accommodating! The property is also extremely nice and well maintained!

The pool was small and shallow but everything else was close to expectations.

The room had an unusual odor, possibly due to its kitchen, resulting in furniture carrying cooking smells. The sofa appeared worn and torn. However, the common areas were well-maintained, clean, and the breakfast was enjoyable.
