Residence Inn by Marriott Newport Middletown

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was great, about a 15 min drive to downtown Newport and a grocery store in walking distance. Our suite was spacious and clean, and the common areas were also clean and comfortable. The kitchen area was well stocked and the fridge and oven were clean. There was enough space to cook dinner for our family of 5. The staff was friendly, there was plenty of parking, and the breakfast and hot tub/pool were great! We would definitely stay here again.

The 20th century televisions were pathetic. Rabbit ears would have been a nice retro touch.

We had a number of problems from the getgo. The room we were put in had electrical problems. They were able to move us to another room. The room they moved us to was generally nice. The AC was a little noisy otherwise we didn’t hear any noise from outside. Breakfast was good. We were getting ready to leave we noticed that all the cold water in the room had started to turn brown. May have been rust but the staff didn’t seem to know anything about the cause of the issue when we checked out. Makes us wonder about the safety of the water. A two star is the best I can do because the issues.

Property is very dated. Was not worth the $650 we paid for one night

College drop off weekend. This hotel was 10 min away and an easy access to and from school. Large rooms clean and quiet

The room was quiet and great. We had a full kitchen, a small dining table, a sitting area, bed area, and a sink separate from the toilet/tub. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

The summer rate is high (similar to other hotels). We will return during a season when the rooms are less expensive.
