It’s a bit out of the way but soooo worth it! This is a gem of a hotel and property with a beautiful sparsely used pacific beach, clean infinity pool, clean excellent rooms. The owner personally welcomed us at checkin and we saw her every time we were out for breakfast and dinner at the on-site restaurant. She checked to make sure all was going well with our stay. Pick this place for a perfect Costa Rica beach experience.

This was an amazing property and the staff hardworking and friendly. We have travelled to Costa Rica several times and this is top of the list for us in terms of where to go when we go back. There was so much to do here, horseback riding, snorkeling, hiking, golf or just sit by the pool or on the beach and enjoy the sounds of the surf. The rooms are updated and clean and the property well maintained. We travelled during Covid and the staff was excellent with protocols and was able to arrange our required testing to return to the US. Loved it.

We stayed at Tango Mar for 3 nights and could not have been happier with the total concept. The location right on the beach was spectacular, the room was large, bright, with all amenities including a balcony overlooking the beach. Breakfast each morning was delicious, fresh, and with eggs from their own chickens. The trails are very scenic. Hilda, the owner, greeted us everyday to make sure all was good with us. We are definitely planning to return.

Tango Mar is a wonderful vacation spot if you like out-of-the-way, self-contained stays. The hotel is very relaxing, the restaurant is marvelous, and the staff is cheerful and helpful. There aren't a lot of other places nearby, but the hotel has a number of activities such as snorkeling and horseback riding, as well as a 9-hole golf course. The closeness of the surf is a constant, soothing background noise that helps one get to sleep at night. If you can, take the ferry from Puntarenas to get there--a novel, 70-minute ride the kids will love.
