Zeus Dolce by Wyndham Athens

We stayed at this hotel around end of April / beginning of May. Location was lovely if you like a balance between a busy and quiet holiday this is a perfect destination. Amenities were adequate but I would not say it is a 5 star hotel at all. There was always spaces around the pool and plenty of loungers however the thing that let the hotel down the most was the service. Before me and my partner stay anywhere we do our research into where can accommodate celiac as my partner unfortunately has had that auto immune disease for the past 16 years. I done research on this hotel and had found online and was assured by front house that they could accommodate, but it couldn’t have be further from the truth. Dinner in the evenings are buffet style, €35 euros for a plate and all of the food listed were with limited or no ingredients and sometimes in the wrong place. First night dining in we had asked a staff member for gluten free options and he had walked my partner to the buffet and pointed to what was there, all noticeably not gluten free. He ended up having a small plate of salad, potatoes and rice and we were still charged €35 which is deeply inadequate given we were charged €96 for 2 plates and 2 drinks, the same as most hotel guests that probably managed to have a full plate of all options, if not multiple servings. Second night, we were more prepared with what to expect so we had asked the kitchen to prepare something like a plain chicken breast with vegetables. First declined by a member of staff, we had asked another member who said it could be done, but it was very visible to see the ‘inconvenience’ we caused amongst members of staff who probably felt we were being difficult. Feeling like a nuisance, problematic and uncomfortable we made the decisions to not go back for food and stick to restaurants in the nearby town and the local corner shop. Breakfast was all inclusive, one morning there was beans, next morning it was pastries, hard boiled eggs etc. Asking to accommodate again, the chef had huffed and puffed when asked to get some gluten free bread, which we were given but was stale, hard and end of loaf. We didn’t do that again either. Some staff I could not fault though, a lady who worked in the restaurant behind the bar was always a friendly face, a young man who was on reception with many recommendations on what to do while we were on holiday and when we checked in the man who drove us on a buggy to our room who had a good sense of humour. For these reasons alone, we would not return again and would strongly advise anyone who suffers with an autoimmune disease to look elsewhere, especially if it’s severe.

A wonderful hotel experience – made truly exceptional thanks to Anna. The hotel’s setting, design, and cleanliness were already impressive. However, it was PR Manager Anna’s hospitality, professionalism, and grace that defined our stay. She has a rare ability to anticipate needs, create comfort, and make every guest feel valued. What a hotel! Magda and her staff were incredible - going out of their way to help our family over our 4 days at the hotel. Food, drinks and pool were also great!

The buffet lunch was low quality. Poor selection a la carte The lobby is beautiful but doesn’t match the rest. Elevators are small, carpet areas on hallways dated. Some areas (food, hallways & furniture, old towels) are disappointing.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Service and Genuine Hospitality I rarely write reviews, but after my stay at Zeus Dolce Resort in Loutsa, I felt compelled to share my experience. I came across this hotel completely by chance. It wasn’t pre-planned, and I hadn’t researched the property beforehand. I simply needed somewhere to stay. What I found was one of the friendliest and most welcoming hotel teams I have encountered. What stood out most was an incident I personally witnessed around 2:00 am at reception. A guest approached the front desk asking for food after the kitchen had already closed. The receptionist politely explained that the kitchen closed at 11:00 pm and that room service was no longer available. Unfortunately, the conversation became increasingly difficult, and I was genuinely disappointed by the way the staff member was spoken to. Despite this, the young receptionist, Despina, remained calm, respectful, professional, and patient throughout. Rather than simply saying “no,” she continued trying to offer solutions, alternatives, and local contacts that might help the guest find food at that hour. Having worked in customer service and customer experience myself, including training staff in difficult customer interactions, I can honestly say that Despina handled the situation exceptionally well. Many experienced employees would struggle to maintain the level of professionalism she demonstrated. I hope management recognises her efforts because she represented the hotel with absolute professionalism and grace under pressure. I would also like to acknowledge Constantina, Costa, Louis, and the entire team. Every interaction was met with a smile, genuine kindness, and a willingness to help. The housekeeping staff also deserve special recognition for the excellent standard of cleanliness throughout the property. One thing that really impressed me was that the hospitality felt genuine. It didn’t feel forced or scripted. The staff treated guests as people, not room numbers. My experience here reinforced a simple principle: when people are treated with kindness and respect, it shows in every aspect of the service they provide. Thank you to everyone at Zeus Dolce Resort for making my stay such a pleasant one. I would happily return and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.
