Digital key was an issue but check in was a breeze

Was very clean and friendly staff. Breakfast was good, same everyday, eggs, sausage, tots, tortillas, and toppings ,cereal, oatmeal, juices, coffee, muffins and toast. Online shows they have a hot tub by the pool, shows in pictures as well. But they no longer have one, it have been cemented over. This was a main point in choosing this hotel for us, so this was disappointing. This needs to be taked down and removed for when choosing this selection for searching. The bed was very uncomfortable. A firm mattress. Very firm. Our backs were hurting for the last 2 days. We stay in Homewood Suites alot. It is our 1st choice when we can find one and this was the 1st time the mattress was uncomfortable. Overall stay was pleasant and quite. Homewood suites is 9 out 10 for us. This one in particular, for us we will skip if in the area again.

I like this property. i've stayed here many times and have only had a couple of problems (mostly maintenance). This trip, I checked in on a Wednesday and used my mobile app and digital key. I did stop at the front desk at one point and got physical key cards (for convenience). I got a good room (rooms that end in 05 or 11 are larger) so I chose an 11 room. The only negative about the 11 room series is that the ice machine is directly across the hall and you can hear others getting ice. I think the extra space makes up for the minor noise issue. The issue I had on this trip was being awoken at 2am to other hotel guests sitting in their minivan listening to music outside my window. I called the hotel and the front desk agent said he'd take care of it. He did. I didn't get back to sleep that night. Otherwise, this was a good stay. I will say, that unlike other Hilton properties, this hotel has only shampoo in the shower. No conditioner. No body wash. I had to visit HEB and buy some and had to leave it because I couldn't take it on the plane. It seems like a dumb place to cut costs.
