Hotel CLARUM 101

Something changed in the past couple of years becaUse the details that made this hotel nice are all gone. The staff friendliness, the calm music in the common areas, the WiFi, the amenities. I’ll admit, the price is low, but at least clean towels are a bare minimum requirement..

The deluxe room was amazing. The shower was massive. The staff are really nice even with my terrible Spanish.

This place gets a fair amount of traffic noise from the street, but there appears to be a nightclub on the premises also? It's after midnight, and I have to be up at 5am, and... yeah no good.

The room itself was really nice and clean. Love the location. Near a lot of restaurants without walking distance. However when we were checking out they charged us for a broken lamp that they said we broke. We were just there one night and we got there really late and we left in the morning. I didn’t even touch the lamp they claimed we broke. I remember seeing that lamp cracked when I got there but I thought they knew about it. So if you are staying there make sure you check the entire room and make sure nothing is cracked or broken or they will charge you for it.

Excellent location Difficult to get to due to unreported road barriers if using GPS. Extremely quiet environment. Extreme security to get into the property, but be prepared to give up your car keys if parking outside. It will be moved, parking is 2 space only but can park 3 or 4 cars deep. In general good value for the money. Glass toilet door offers no privacy.

I thought desk staff were very poorly organized. When I first got there I was put in dirty room, you would think staff would know which rooms were clean. The most disturbing thing was, I was asked to pay a 500 pesos deposit for frig drinks. I was not going to use, but pay anyway. But upon leaving for airport, I asked for the deposit to be returned. The clerk stated they did not any money to return the deposit. Waited 25 minutes for him to call around for help, still was not able to come up with the deposit. WOW I have never had this happen before. I stay in hotels 50+ days per year. The clerk finally gave a voucher to my Taxi cab driver, to receive deposit at a later date. WOW!!!! Truly I was left speechless.

This hotel is located in a wonderful location with everything you need very close. It is located in a wonderful neighborhood for walking and has excellent restaurants of every type in all directions. Moreover, the energy in Chapalita is just great.

Both my wife and me are avid travelers, both for work and leisure, and when we travel we prefer to stay at boutique hotels. We like small homelike places where you can walk out and get a coffee and enjoy the peaceful setting of a small hotel. In this particular stay we booked for 7 days and decided to spend the weekend to explore the city after a week of work. The owners are confused if they are a night club or a boutique hotel, on Friday they decided to "rent" the terrace for a private party... it's a 3 story house converted to a hotel, doors and windows are poorly sealed for sound, we where staying in the second floor so the terrace was above our room... from 5pm until 2am in the morning it was none stop sound checking, instrument checking, live concert/live music and drunk people walking down the "glass" stairs with high heals ... obnoxious party goers that would not understand there was people wanting to rest... two owners from what I can figure out, one of them was a no show and the other one was no help at all... the terrace was booked until 1am and music should have stoped at 12am... none of that happened. I ended up standing at the front desk asking for the police and asking for them to fix the situation... you can figure out the rest of the story sleep was not happening until ~3am... After pressuring next day we got a refund for one night, but that did not fix the lack of sleep trying to explore the city... very bad experience... I would not stay there next time.
