Zeus Essence Bucharest Venezia

I actually stayed here 3 times on the same trip. All three times were a single night with the group I was traveling with and then I extended for some additional nights at the end of the trip. 3 stays 3 different rooms. Room #1 was ok. All the rooms are oddly shaped. This room had a very large bathroom. Bedroom was ok but no place for a suitcase. There were 2 of us. We asked for a luggage rack and the staff was friendly and promptly brought one. Room 2. Much smaller. No room for luggage. We asked for a luggage rack and were told there were none but they brought us a chair that was broken and could not hold a suitcase. Got up early to catch a flight and was less than thrilled to find ants all over the bathroom. Room 3 was very small for 2 people. No place for luggage and no place for a luggage rack so we didn’t ask. Each stay was met with less service and helpfulness from the staff. Daily we had to have our room keys redone because they no longer worked. In the evening you had to wait for the desk staff to finish their smoke break before this could be done. Breakfast was ok. The coffee machine never worked correctly. The woman in charge of the breakfast room was very helpful with that and would frequently just do it for you.

location was good, but the staff were not very informed with anything asked and every staff had different information on the same questions etc eg. transport back to airport and how to book and expense etc. room tea/coffee was not always replenished.

Nice small hotel near the main city. Friendly staff and very attentive

This was my first time in Bucharest so didn’t know what to expect. Location close to Parliament and nice park really close. Friendly staff. Definitely not 4 stars to US standards. They have instant coffee in the room the first day then you have to pay for it ☹️

I was traveling with a group. We checked into this hotel 3 separate times and had 3 separate rooms and then I had an extension 2 additional nights at the end.There were issues with the keys each time. They had to be rekeyed after one use. This was annoying. You get to your room and have to return to the desk for a rekey, usually waiting till they came in from smoking outside the front door. For the extension I asked when I booked if we could stay in the same room. Then I asked the night before and was told yes. I checked again the day of - we had a tour booked - and was told I would have to change rooms. Then they said well, they could make it work so we didn't have to change. The first room we had had no place to put a suitcase. We had one on a chair and asked for a luggage rack - we had 2 suitcases. They were very helpful this time and brought one. The second time they told us to use the chair. We were already using the chair for one suitcase.They brought us another chair - too small to put a suitcase on and it was broken. There were ants in the bathroom of this room. Staff at the desk was sometimes pleasant, sometimes not. Frequently they were outside smoking. The room safes are tiny. We only used them one time and we could not get it opened again. We had to wait for the person to come in from a smoke break to fix it. Then he used his key and very rudely told me that I needed to use my head when I set the combination while pointing to his head. Wifi was slow.

A total of 5 nights. I was traveling with a group. We checked in 3 times and I added 2 nights at the end of the last night stay. 2 single women in my room with 2 suitcases.The first room/night we asked for a luggage rack and they promptly brought one. Other suitcase was on a chair. 2nd room/night we asked for the same and were told to use the chair. We already were. They reluctantly brought another chair that was too narrow for the case and was broken.This room had ants in the bathroom. Not a fun surprise when you get up at 3 am to catch a flight. 3rd room had a chair and a separate cabinet for the fridge so we used the cabinet. The whole group consistently had issues with keys not working. Every time you came back from somewhere you had to return to the desk to have the room key redone. It was annoying. The desk staff was usually out in front of the hotel smoking so you had to wait for them to finish. The room safes are tiny, tablets are too big. We used ours once and could not get it open. After 2 calls to the desk someone finally came to help. He opened it and rudely told me while tapping his head that I needed to use my head when I used this. Wifi was slow and intermittent. Depended on where you were in the room.

The flight was at night and we asked to make breakfast with us (for which we paid money) and did not receive it There were also problems with the bathroom that only two days later we were corrected

The decor is nice and lavish. I really enjoyed the corridor hung with framed mirrors, the heavy curtains in the bedroom, and the massive bronze taps. The location is great, and with a 24-hour shop nearby, very convenient. Staffing is relaxed and friendly, and I felt comfortable asking questions, and they were very pleasant in all interactions. The room was clean, the aircon worked brilliantly, the bed was comfortable, the curtains blocked all light, the wifi was great, there were a couple of free plugs for my rechargers, and the minifridge was useful. On the downside, the showerhead was inconsistent, I don't believe in shampoo/showergel as a combo thing :) , and the walls were a little thin - I could hear my neighbour snoring, the kids banging about downstairs, and the cleaners are pretty loud if you fancy a lie-in. Minor things. I will happily return there on my next trip to Bucharest.
