The Hampton Inn in Spearfish was the worst Hampton Inn that I have ever stayed in. It is not up to Hilton Standards by a wide margin. Checked in and went to the room a found that the from of the toilet bowl was dirty. When to the desk to request different room and was not told that they were sorry for the problem. On my second visit I checked in and went to the room only to find it was still being cleaned! Asked for another room and found the light in the bathroom was burnt out, floor lamp broken, bathroom ceiling falling down and mold around tub. Would not recommend staying at this Hampton.

The front desk manager was very courteous and helpful. That said, I booked a king sized room with sofa bed and indicated I was traveling with a pet. By arrival time the room was not cancellable, but I was only told then that the pet rooms are on the first floor and there are no king sized beds on the first floor. So the room I booked wasn’t available if I had a pet. He offered to refund my room reservation if I wanted to go to another hotel and was kind enough to let me check the room before I said okay. We took two queen beds instead. The fridge was ridiculously noisy so we had to unplug it. The TV programming did not match the channel guide which was odd and a bit inconvenient. The mattress is too soft and the A/C unit is barely six inches from one bed so it blew cold air directly onto the bed which made it too uncomfortable to use. And one of my big pet peeves is the kind of hotel room doors that slam shut loudly if someone doesn’t hold them as they close. That hallway door bang happened three times before 6:45AM and did not make for a restful sleep. The pre check out bill I was sent showed I was charged the pet fee twice. The front desk manager was kind when I pointed it out and took it off without a fuss. But overall the stay was bumpy and not as restful as we had hoped.

This property was older and mostly serviceable. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was poor. The ostmeal had a green finish lm onbthe surface.

Horrible room. Bathroom shower/tub had mold all around the sides. The bathroom shelf looked like it came out of an old garage. The bathroom door did not shut properly. The bed squeaked every time it moved. The wall mirror was taped up with blue duct tape. The bathroom faucet was loose. The bath towels were like sandpaper. This room should never have been rented. Needs help
