The Southcliff Hotel

Brilliant location close to town & beach. Clean & comfortable 3 day stay

Very dated had to ask to change rooms 1st one the bathroom was like a cupboard. Over priced rooms for the quality but the staff & location made up for it.

Very clean and lovely, helpful staff.

Location is great, few steps away from one of the beaches and 10 min away from main marina and pier with amazing market :) staff was super friendly, we received warm welcome!

Room was a bit dusty (I’m allergic)

In die Jahre gekommen, Toilettenspülung sehr laut und lief lange nach, Fenster ließen sich nicht weit zum Lüften öffnen. Dadurch war es sehr warm im Zimmer. Bett war sehr hart.

The location was excellent with a nice walk to the old town and harbour. Beach and Leas Country Park were within easy access. The staff were excellent with Ribel and Vinny offering great service. They looked after our bags so we could got to the harbour whilst we waited for transport, and they put in the World Cup for us on the screen for some games despite us being the only ones that were watching at that time of night. The staff were the best thing about the hotel.

It is dated and the rooms need to be brought up to modern standards. However you do get what you pay for, which was a clean room and bed in our case. We only stayed one night, I couldn’t do more nights in the same room. The lift was a highlight - it was like something I remember from the 1970’s, very small and an experience. We enjoyed our stay.

Loved it, a real old fashioned hotel with a magnificent sea view to boot. Loved the slightly rough at the edges feel about the hotel, proper weathered seaside hotel. The staff were ace, very polite and easygoing.

Nothing, even are occasional seagull visitor made the stay great. Parking? Well, it’s in a prime place, so could be awkward I guess, but I found a parking spot outside the controlled parking zone and parked for free for 24+ hours.
